The human heart is not filled by accumulating experiences, possibilities, or temporary guarantees; it is filled when it discovers a call, when it understands that life reaches fullness only if it is given. Following Christ does not impoverish existence, but expands it. #ApostolicJourney
The Strange and the Fantastic. If your medieval inspired don't include these things, you've sadly misunderstood medieval literature and our desire for it. We want the mysterious, fascinating, and tremendous. Fantasy isn't a flight from anything. It's a dwelling in the natural!
@millerman Where can I sign up? Only thing missing for me is a Chartreuse cocktail. And may I make a request? Instruments should be either acoustic or if electronic, amplified with la Voix de Luthier resonators
@SohrabAhmari I think these function like protests, high time-to-cost ratio opportunity to kill time with like minded people with a shared (if manufactured) goal. It's like anti-leisure entertainment.
My favorite move was having a shitty customer experience by design but asking customers to rate the poor soul representing a shitty system as evidence of the system’s effectiveness for “mUh KpI’s”, as if the customer agents have any authority in their role. At least now there’s no intermediary victim. If they had a brain they’d keep the genuine human merely to bump their internal numbers off of compassionate customers. But no one will rate “Amanda” from Bangalore (generously) like they will “Amanda” the bot (brutally). Watch this internal KPIs plummet. Bullish for CX-owner jobs…
@annakhachiyan I think so too- there’s a brevity to spanking- embodied temporal limit. The over compensation of alternative psychological methods is relentless and has temporal drift. I do neither of course, I use the currently approved method
This is right, and I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to feeling the pull of having a “take” despite the paucity (non existence) of my media property. I’ll be reading this slowly and deliberately and might not have a take. It’s ok to just listen and be quiet. There’s plenty of time to opine when you have something to say.
It is a particular form of slavery to be a person running or managing a media property and feeling, deep in your bones, that you absolutely have to publish your 'differentiated' take on the papal encyclical within 48 hours, or else you're falling behind or not relevant.
I know I wrote a book about this, but it still feels worth saying that mimesis runs so deep that everyone exempts themselves from it.
@johnamonaco@WesternNewYorkr “with the exception of strings, a neck, and pickups, at its core the table is an electric guitar and has been for a very, very long time”
