תיעוד חדש שהגיע לידי בצלם חושף את רגעי הירי במשפחת אבו הייכל, שכתוצאה ממנו נהרג סאם אבו הייכל, תינוק בן 7 חודשים, ונפצעו שני הוריו. מהתיעוד עולה בבירור כי הירי שביצע החייל לעבר הרכב בוצע בזמן שנהג הרכב האט את נסיעתו לקראת עצירה, וכאשר היה במרחק מהחיילים ולא היווה כל סכנה עבורם.

בהמשך, בסרטון נוסף שהגיע לידי בצלם, נראה ��אהד, אביו של סאם בן ה-7 חודשים, ברגעים הראשונים לאחר הירי בבנו. האב נראה כאשר הוא אוחז בתינוק ומנסה לעצור בידיו את הדימום מראשו. עוד ניתן לראותבתיעוד את אימו של התינוק, דאניה, שנפצעה גם היא מהירי בזמן שאחזה בבנה, כשהיא יושבת על הכביש לצד רכב המשפחה.

ביום שישי האחרון, 5 ביוני, חייל ישראלי פתח באש קטלנית לעבר משפחה פלסטינית, שחזרה מביקור משפחתי, בעת שנסעה ברכבה בשכונת תל רומיידה בחברון. הירי בוצע לאחר שאב המשפחה, שנהג ברכב, הבחיןבחיילים שעמדו על הכביש והאט. סאם, תינוק בן 7 חודשים, שהיה באותה עת בזרועותיה של אימו במושב האחורי, נפגע בראשו מהירי ומותו נקבע זמן קצר לאחר מ��ן. מהירי נפצעו גם אביו של סאם ואימו, שעדייןמאושפזת בבית החולים. לאחר הירי החייל היורה וחייל נוסף שהיה עמו עזבו את המקום מבלי לבדוק את הרכב ומבלי להגיש סיוע לתינוק הפצוע אנוש ולאימו.

בשנתיים וחצי האחרונות ישראל הרגה למעלה מ-20,000 ילדים בעזה ובגדה המערבית. החסינות שהמערכת הישראלית מעניקה לחיילים ולמתנחלים הובילה למציאות יומיומית בה הרג של פלסטינים, באשר הוא, נתמך ומגובה על ידי המערכת - אפילו כשמדובר בתינוק בן 7 חודשים.

Israel has turned its prisons into a network of torture camps for Palestinians. Prisoners are subjected to severe violence, deliberate humiliation, starvation, sleep deprivation, denial of medical care and abuse in everyfacility they are held in. Some have also been severely sexually assaulted. Since October 2023, at least 84 Palestinians have died in these torture camps.

The policymakers, and primarily Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, brag in TV puff pieces and on social media about what is happening in these torture camps.

Today, we published “Living Hell”, a report on the situation of Palestinians in Israeli custody. It is based on the testimonies of Palestinians released in recent months, along with research, reports, news updates and Israel Prison Service figures, and continues our previous report on the issue, “Welcome to Hell”, from August 2024.

Systematic, deliberate abuse continues to define Israel’s policy toward Palestinian prisoners in its custody, and is another feature of the Israeli regime’s coordinated onslaught on the Palestinian people.

The destruction and extreme violence we have witnessed in Gaza since 7 October 2023 did not happen in a vacuum. They result directly from decades of dehumanization of Palestinians in Israel, which paved the way for the current catastrophe.

Since October 2023, the discourse led by political leaders and senior military officers has portrayed Gaza residents as a group whose lives are completely worthless, and the horrifying results on the ground speak for themselves: more than 72,783 killed, more than 172,779 injured and about 1.9 million forcibly displaced.

La periodista estadounidense Abby Martin, tras hablar con israelíes de todo tipo, denuncia: "Les he preguntado a personas de todos los sectores en Israel… y muchos responden: ‘Matad a todos los palestinos, bombardeadlos, tiradles una bomba nuclear’. La sociedad israelí se ha vuelto completamente fascista, como Berlín en los años 30".

Este testimonio es duro pero revelador. Muestra el nivel de radicalización y deshumanización que ha alcanzado parte importante de la sociedad israelí tras años de ocupación y propaganda.

Cuando una periodista experimentada que ha cubierto el conflicto durante años compara la situación actual con la Alemania de los 30, no es una acusación ligera.

Es una alarma sobre cómo la normalización de la violencia y el odio colectivo puede llevar a una sociedad a perder su brújula moral.

Gaza es el espejo más crudo de esta realidad.
