We are looking for a motivated PhD student to work on neutralizing antibodies, vaccines, and antiviral peptides.
We aim to combine wet-lab expertise👨🔬with computational modeling👩💻to drive innovation in viral intervention
Great work on post-acute COVID-19 vaccination (PACV) syndrome, from @VirusesImmunity group.
However, I'm very disappointed by the extensive use of the term "post-vaccination syndrome" in the manuscript. it is too generic and it won't be handled properly by public opinion.

Yale researchers studied 42 people with chronic illness after COVID-19 vaccination and found immune differences, including reduced CD4 T cells and increased TNFα+ CD8 T cells.
Some had persistent spike protein in their blood up to 709 days later.

The manuscript also fails to bring PACV syndrome in its right perspective. Saying "a small fraction of individuals" or "some individuals have reported post-vaccination symptoms" is too vague. What is the prevalence? Out of the 13 billion doses of COVID19 vaccines.
@Nicole_Paulk short term focused management and high management salaries and bonuses are not a good combination.
The management will probably keep their bonuses anyway and move to another company.
Thus the actual business is in being part of the management.
@deboramarks@ATinyGreenCell From my side, not seeing your name in the Lasker and Nobel prizes on this topic was a big disappointment.
Unfortunately, these prizes are the results of extensive PR within previous-awardees.
Deepmind, by providing easy use of alphafold, made a great PR move in this sense.
@deboramarks@ATinyGreenCell Dear Debora, I was amazed with the use of MSA and co-evolution of residues to derive protein contacts and protein structure in your much earlier papers. AF and AF2 strongly relied on that concept and I have no doubts that they took the idea from your work.
@sokrypton@SluskyLab Well, obtaining structural information from co-evolution of residues was the game-changing and main feature of AF and AF2, and originally it was not their idea. I would have included Deborah Marks in the list.
@Caroline_Bartma @vineethvengayil BTW, the 3XUbVR-tag-GOI-mRNA is larger than the GOI-mRNA. The mRNA size matters a lot in delivery efficiency. Hence, I won't rule out that the expected reduction in mRNA delivery explain our results.
The project was dropped to favours other promising projects.
