Good morning!  Heavenly Father thank you for this perfect day.

Do you think God enjoys listening to your prayer?

Yes!
Not with a polite nod or distant courtesy,
but with the warm,
attentive delight of a Father
who has been waiting for His child to speak.
He does not merely tolerate the sound of your voice;
He leans in. He treasures it.

Your words do not vanish into silence.

They rise like incense,
fragrant and welcome.
Even when they come slowly,
whispered through tears,
or poured out in joyful song,
they reach a heart
that is already turned toward you.

Proverbs 15:8
“The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.”

It is not the perfection of your phrasing
that moves Him.
It is the turning of your heart.
The simple act of coming,
honest, needy, trusting,
brings Him pleasure.

Psalm 34:15
“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry.”

Attentive. Not distracted, not weary,
not scrolling through a list
of more important things.

His ears are tuned to the cry of His own.

Every sigh, every question, every
“I don’t know how to pray”
is caught and held.

And deeper still, God delights in you.

When you pray, you are stepping into the very relationship He has always wanted.

Zephaniah 3:17
“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you… he will rejoice over you with singing.”

If the Creator of the universe
sings over you with joy,
how much more does He cherish the sound
of your voice returning love to Him?

Your prayer
is not a report to a distant king.
It is conversation with the One
who already knows every word
before it forms on your tongue,
yet still waits, still listens,
still smiles when you speak it.

Even when His people
simply spoke of Him to one another,
Scripture tells us:

Malachi 3:16
“Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence…”

He not only hears, He remembers.
He records it as precious.

So come.
Come with your ordinary words
and your tangled thoughts.
Come when you have nothing polished to offer. Come when all you can manage
is a sigh or a single name,

“Jesus.”

He is not grading your prayer.
He is enjoying the fellowship.
You are not interrupting heaven.
You are answering an invitation that has been open since before time began.

Father,
thank You that my prayers
are not a burden to You
but a delight.

Help me to believe
that You lean in when I speak,
whether in joy or in tears.

Let me come to You today
not out of duty,
but out of the quiet joy
of being heard and loved by You.

In Jesus Name,
Amen.

You are heard. You are enjoyed. And the conversation continues…

Nostalgia is a beautiful thing!

I was the first to wear them,
these old boots.
I was 3-4 years old that Christmas
and once I put them on,
they didn't come off until I went to sleep.

I wore these boots everyday
until they didn't fit anymore.

Mom cleaned them up
and put them in a box
until my younger brother
could wear them.
She did that for all three of my
brothers.

When my youngest brother
out grew them,
she cleaned them up,
put them in a box
and kept them
until the day
she was handing out
things from her boxes
that she'd kept for her children.

That was about a month
before she passed.

She gave those boots to me
because she remembered
how I never wanted to take them off.

They sit on a shelf now
where I see them all the time.

Memories of her are light years
beyond the memory of these boots
but they carry her love
for me and my brothers.

Draws an ancient tear at times
and that's why I keep them.
