Mamdani is about to learn why socialism FAILS 100% of the time. He couldn't even answer simple question: How do you stop people from abusing government-discounted groceries and scalping them for profit? He dodged and passed the mic to some official, who— I'm not kidding— said the answer was a "library card-esque" system, which means ID. You CAN'T require ID for voting because it's racist! But Mamdani Mart is different.

Of course, requiring ID would be too common sense, so the Mayor's office quickly backpedaled to a "grocery savings card." Um, I'm pretty sure that still requires an ID. But at least they admitted they won't even check residency! So if you’re driving in from Texas and want 30% off steaks in New York City, come on over!

This is why socialism fails every single time. Because the second you apply 10 seconds of basic common sense, the entire house of cards collapses under its own stupidity.

One of the problems with this claim is that virtually no Republican was making "the affordability crisis is fake" arguments during the Biden years. It's extremely transparent to everyone that the unwillingness to acknowledge these obvious economic challenges is at least partially politically motivated.

The second problem is that, no matter how thrifty your family might be, and no matter how cheap your homemade burritos, the significant rise in grocery prices over the past 6 years -- and the fact that the rise is continuing, not stopping, and certainly not reversing -- is just a mathematical reality. It can't be denied. It is a fact.

Grocery prices have gone up by 30 percent or more this decade. I'm happy for you if your family isn't significantly impacted by this problem. But it is real. And it is a problem. And conservatives better come up with an answer that isn't just "learn how to make cheap burritos" or we will get absolutely crushed. That's another reality.

This is the SAME administration, and the same party, that calls voter ID laws racist. Says it’s “too burdensome.” Says it disenfranchises people. Says requiring ID to prove who you are before you vote for the leader of the country is some kind of civil rights violation.

Yet showing ID to buy a discounted rotisserie chicken? Totally reasonable. No pushback. No “burden” talk. Just straight up: bring your papers or no groceries.
