"Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope..https://t.co/6o3Ce7Wfw5 .these ripples can build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance"
SOUND UP! These are our heroes! Robert F. Kennedy's beautiful "Ripple" speech expresses our gratitude for America's heroes and gives hope in difficult times. Thank you to everyone who is standing up, getting loud, and making "good trouble!" #IntegrityMatters
@kaitduffy As a Boston Celtics fan, it would normally be hard for me to root for the New York Knicks, but part of me wants to be rooting for the same team as Spike Lee, Tina Fey, and Pope Leo.
@CaitlinPacific Wouldn't that be true of almost any show on linear TV, since younger people consume most of their content by streaming? I still watch SNL in real time, but my children watch the segments the next day on YouTube.
@NBTBPodcast "The hardest part for me was the feeling the distance between you & your neighbor, between you & your fellow citizens. That distance is painful & it can darken your soul...We can argue about these things & still recognize our common humanity, our dignity & our unity." 5/28/26
@Liathetrader Wow! I didn't know people were being charged for these types of crimes anymore. He was actually right about the $SQ short thesis, eventually. I was long from ~$60 and didn't sell in the $200s and it made a round trip on me. It used to be a good $BTC proxy. Still holding.
@mathemetica There will be 500 fewer graduate students at MIT next year due to restrictive immigration policies and fewer federal grants. Why are we doing this?
@Venu_7_ $RBBN is a voice infrastructure and optical networking stock that has been a laggard compared to these 3 stocks, but has shown improvement lately. Holding shares.
@CraigSemon@springsteen@tmorello@tdgarden I enjoyed reading your review of this show, Craig. I ended up going to the one in Washington, DC a few days later, which was also amazing.
@JaneotN@JoJoFromJerz He does have what young people refer to as aura. If Ossoff gets reelected as Senator this year, he would be a strong contender in 2028. He would also put an important swing state in the D column, with 16 electoral votes.
@xtinemarx I have never played, but I imagine there is a social aspect to the game, much like playing cards. It takes a lot of resources (land, water, fertilizer) and pesticides & herbicides to maintain a golf course, so I expect there will be fewer of them in the future.
@MediawatchNw@covie_93 Rob, I am glad you are back among the living! I was getting worried about you! I agree that Ossoff focusing his messaging on corruption is the right approach. Everyone can understand it. It turned out that the threat to democracy was too abstract for most people.
@CultrHack@springsteen This is one of his best vignettes of several in the DC concert and is emblematic of how he wants to frame his opposition to Trump, as a person who expresses love for America and the more perfect union. I am hopeful that a documentary will be made on this tour.
@CultrHack@springsteen Agree that it was special out of the 15 or so that I've seen. The addition of Tom Morello, the Streets of Minneapolis song, the venue in DC not far from the WH, the selection and arrangement of the songs. Even the songs I have heard many times, like Darkness, took on new meaning.
@TheExtremeMusi1 The lyrics are elite, but so is the musical arrangement, which is very sophisticated. I did not appreciate this fact until I saw the film Love and Mercy. This song required close to a full orchestra.
@ClaireMPLS I defer to your superior NBA expertise. For me, it's hard to reconcile the Knicks team that won 11 in a row in the playoffs with the regular season team that finished 3rd in what is considered the weaker conference. It should be pretty entertaining, though.
