@MichaelChopra opens up to @PeteGravesTV on the Here To Compete podcast about his gambling addiction, hitting rock bottom, and the moment he told Roy Keane the truth before being sent to rehab. ⚽🔥
A raw and emotional story from a former Premier League star that shows the reality behind the fame.

@MichaelChopra was one of the flashiest young players at Newcastle back in the day 😭⚽
Fresh trims, confidence through the roof, and one day he turns up to training wearing bright lime green trainers that nobody in the dressing room could ignore 💀
The senior pros immediately went to work… @AlanShearer signed one shoe, @No1shaygiven signed the other, then @nobbysolanouk4 and the rest of the lads started adding their autographs without Chopra noticing 😂
By the end of training, the flashy new trainers looked more like a signed charity item than football boots.
Years later, Sky Sports presenter Pete Graves somehow tracked the trainers down and reunited Chopra with them 😭👏
One of the greatest dressing room wind-ups in Premier League history.

@MichaelChopra opens up on one of the hardest conversations of his life — sitting down with his parents and admitting just how serious his gambling addiction had become.
No hiding. No excuses. Just honesty.
It’s a reminder that behind the game, real battles are being fought — and speaking up is where change starts.
