🗞️Everton sources have indicated that they are prepared to play the waiting game for the “ideal” candidate to fill the right-back position

🗣️"I don't know if a club like Everton now if we can make big huge strides but we see how well the likes of Bournemouth and Brentford are doing, so there's no reason why we all shouldn't have those ambitions to try and at least match those clubs and how they go about it.” - Moyes
If he’s your cover at RB, yeah fine. If he’s your starter, yikes.
Everton will not progress past lower midtable/relegation candidates until they start treating the full back position seriously and stop dipping into the bargain bin.
Everton have targeted Aaron Wan-Bissaka in a £10m deal as clubs circle around West Ham following their relegation from the Premier League.
West Ham need to raise around £150m in player sales to balance the books, with relegation alone costing the club £100m.

🗞️Signing a new right back is a priority for Everton this Summer.
Everton plan to trigger their option to extend Mykolenko’s contract by a year with talks expected over a longer deal. Cover at Left Back will almost certainly be sought this Summer

Average age of Villa’s starting lineup is 29.2 years old. They have had relatively poor transfer windows under Emery with the odd huge success (Rogers) but unless they start getting it right this cycle will end very quickly.
Moyes has been negligent with Everton’s resources this season. Even if his gamble for Europe paid off, what was next?
We still wouldn’t know if George was worth the clause, if Dibling could play a large role, or how useful Rohl could be.
Would have been more blind spending.
Everyone at Everton should have done better since Chelsea and the Sunderland game was a huge letdown but David Moyes deserves more respect than he’s getting from some

Thought he was excellent yesterday, but mostly surprised by his pace. Seems like a decent fit for PL football.
Think there’s definitely questions to be asked as to why he’s not been seen since Villa, but his attitude seems excellent. You’d hope Dibling would be a similar case…
Just reflecting on the Grealish stuff from the weekend.
It is interesting that footballers are often criticised for being robotic, media trained and not acting like real people. Then the second they do act like real people, there’s a massive queue to slag them off.
The technical issue affecting a small number of Season Ticket Members renewing via Direct Debit remains ongoing.

@GavinBuckland1@terry__smith Ah yes, the old ENT doctor adage of “it’s not actually louder, you’re just focusing on it”. Well it’s still bloody louder in my head!
I know some people will be thinking “what’s the point?”
When my chronic tinnitus first got bad like a decade ago, I felt really afraid to go out into the world and do normal things.
This sort of thing can give people really important wins in ways you’d never consider.

@terry__smith Yeah, it’s very rare I’m ever in complete silence. None of the white noise or rain sounds ever worked for me either. Just distraction and acceptance.
Thank god for the age of the podcast and the long-form YouTube documentary!
@terry__smith Weirdly, I think the safe quieter environments helped me to accept it and made the hyperacusis go away!
Used to just be terrified of it getting worse the more I was around noise.
Now it’s just a mildly annoying hitchhiker in my life 🤣
