KTLA is on site to cover Pepperdine’s Waves of Flags display. It was around this time, 24 years ago, that I arrived on base at MCRD San Diego and learned that a plane had struck the World Trade Center in NYC. Today, we remember 9/11 and the 2,977 lives lost on that terrible day. We remember.

On Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 9 AM, the Pepperdine community will gather at Alumni Park for a remembrance ceremony honoring the lives lost during the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon 24 years ago. This year, the university welcomes Dennis Quaid as the distinguished honoree.
