@PaulSmithTO I used to agree with her but looking at both systems I don’t anymore. Canadian farms are smaller much smaller family farms that employ three people (mostly family) the cows are treated much better, they milk is healthier, and farmers a somewhat reasonable income.

revenue and profits I don’t work in the business so I maybe wrong. A few months ago I did a lot of research on the Can and USA approaches to dairy because a reporter I trust and admire wrote that we should end supply management

@PaulSmithTO I think they do. It is easy for them to predict the cost of raw milk as the provincial governments have price floors and the known quantity of available milk makes is easy to have the exact amount of employees, trucks, and equipment required for max efficiency.

@PaulSmithTO I joined two weeks ago to read official statements from officials people. Didn’t think I would like it but the posts about whales, elephants and space are great. Learning lots: so much better than I thought it would be. I am older so I doubt any of my friends would be on X.

@Glen4Climate @ScottJenningsKY Thank you sir. It is worth noting that supply management has done a better job preserving family farms than USA system of price supports and massive subsidies. The difference in size avg dairy farms is massive (CA 80-120 cows on average: USA 1000-10000 cows).
