@ksorbs If you think America is a “Christian nation” you can’t comment on politics. Also, when was the last time a shooter asked their victim if they new the name of the gun shooting at them?🤔
@IrregularRegul5 I used to say this to my son. He reacted badly to it, for reasons you obviously understand. Now I say “I wish you didn’t have to feel that way, buddy. “ It acknowledges his feelings without the phony “I’m sorry”.
@Shadow2Serenity I do this all the time. And then I get more angry because I know the object doesn’t care that I’m angry. Silly, I know. But it is what it is.
I have some questions for those who feel comfortable answering and giving their opinion…
1)How reliable is the ADOS test for adults?
2)Where within the scaling method would one be to feel it’s a sure bet they are autistic?
@RevKPB I get it. Though I view it as both a blessing and a curse. Sometimes I wish I could turn it off. I’m SURE others around me sometimes wish I could turn it off. Lol
Does anybody out there hear songs coming out of the most random noises? If a screen door creaks at a certain pitch or length, a song pops in my head. If a car drives by and hits a certain octave, a song pops in my head. This morning it was the toilet flushing. Song. Anyone else?
@Elm00497287 This sounds very much like what I’m describing. I can remember when I was much younger, static from the tv would do that to me. Inside the pops and crackles of the static were songs.
@ava_marie_v That is a GREAT way of describing it. And I annoy people ALL the time because I can’t stop humming, whistling , or singing. They’ll ask me “how’d you even get that song stuck in your head?” All I can think to say is “I heard a noise”. You’re friend says it way better😉
All one needs to do is circumnavigate the globe to see for themselves that the earth is round. Likewise, all one has to do is see the joy crushed out of their child to know that ABA damages those who are ND.
@TheAutieAlien @HolSmale There is no enduring. Why would a majority of autistic adults agree ABA is successful any more than they would agree the earth is round? It’s only people involved in a conspiracy theory that shout in opposition to accepted science.

@autistintheroom I’ve always had a bond with the kiddo that gives me the ability to offer him comfort when others can’t. But I immediately felt a degree of closeness I’d not yet felt with him, after our conversation.
Told my 6 yr old today that it’s very likely his daddy has autism too. I’ve been wrestling with this because I did not want him to feel worse about his struggles when he sees me handling mine. He already believes I’m ALWAYS in control of myself.
@doctorsriver13 @flowerqueers So do conversations. And since you can’t ask a video or article to be more specific about details not included by the author, I find I can better narrow down info to fit a specific individual easier with a real time conversation. But thanks for the tip. 👍
If you follow me, PLEASE retweet this.
I desperately need autistic followers to help me as I attempt to be the best dad I can be to my autistic child. Follow me. Correct me when I’m wrong, if I make a bad assumption, if my language is incorrect.
@liliafish This is what I normally tell parents ( and something I have to continually remind myself as well)…
If you’re stressing out about how good of a parent you are, you’re probably a good parent. 🙂
@QgabaMaes How funny. I tell my son he has super powers too. I told him that every superhero has some thing they must overcome. It’s what makes them a hero. Being super, he has abilities others do not. But he will also have to fight against things that others don’t have to.
