The UK government finally got back to me on my petition to require AI companies to disclose their training data. It was worded incredibly simply, but they are demanding changes.

Where I had said AI companies training commercial models on copyrighted work without a license is illegal, they have amended it to "which we [the petitioners] think is illegal".
