5 Rules for Risk Management that Most Traders Learn Too Late:
1. Know your exit criteria before you open a trade. Once you're in a position, emotions start negotiating and the number always moves in the wrong direction
2. Cap single-trade risk at 5% of your account. The market will always give you another setup. A blown account gives you nothing
3. Sitting in cash during a choppy market is a decision, not a failure. The traders who understand that end up compounding faster than the ones grinding every session
4. Trim in pieces at 30%, 50%, and 75% gains. Locking in partial profits removes the emotional weight that causes traders to either panic sell or overstay
5. After a loss, wait. The trade you want to place immediately after getting smoked is almost always the most dangerous one you'll take all week
Let me give you a real piece of advice that took me years to learn.
Most traders fail because they think success comes from trading more (Greed).
It doesn’t.
The biggest shift in my trading career happened when I realized:
You only trade when the setup is actually there.
Not because you’re bored.
Not because you have time.
Not because the market is open.
1-2 quality trades a day or 3-4 a week is enough.
That’s it.
The hardest part for most people isn’t finding entries.
It’s doing nothing when there’s nothing to do.
Another lesson:
Once you make your money, close the broker.
Seriously.
Just because your favorite furus are posting 15 more plays doesn’t mean you need to take them.
I started making more money the moment I traded less.
I give myself 90 mins a day max now. 90 mins.
Most people would honestly be better off just buying $VOO / $QQQ or learning how to sell options instead of forcing day trades every single day.
Day trading is supposed to be selective.
Not constant.
Take it for what my 20 years in this career is worth:
Most of what you see online is fake anyway.
I’m giving you the truth.
I have nothing to gain from lying to you or trying to impress you. 🐦⬛
Big Picture View: 1 week ago, when #ES_F was 7180, I posted it spent the week building a bull flag 7198-7080. I was looking for a breakout to 7300+, we got it
Plan Next Week: ES needs to digest this and backtest. 7245, 7198 (backtest) = supports. Sets up 7300, 7345, 7395 next
90% of people never buy the bottom when it finally comes.
Too much fear, panic, and hesitation.
Nobody ever wants to buy when the market is breaking out either.
"It's up too much" "It's overvalued" "It has to pull back"
Do you see the pattern here?
Most people only buy when they feel comfortable. Just like in real life you can't grow in the comfort zone.
The absolute best trades feel scary. They almost feel wrong. These are the types of trades that can 10x your account.
All indicators are aligned for a counter trend relief rally on the S&P 500 to occur over these next few days…
With $SPY making lower lows, & meanwhile $VIX not making higher highs; this indicates a clear pivot spot formed.
Notably right before close someone bought $1.2M worth of $SPY 2DTE $643 calls.
Implied upside is $653 by Mid-April before the selloff continues.
Don’t miss out…
This year’s black swan event is the closure of the Hormuz, which is also your chance at generational wealth over these next 30 days…
The S&P 500 is actively following the same playbook as the tariff crash in 2025.
Expect $SPY to see a dead cat bounce in April to near $650 followed by a crash down to $600.
This setup will play out just like predicted.
Don’t miss out…
@NBCSAuthentic@MontePooleNBCS green is nothing burger without curry. He is hurting the team as he's scared af to shoot the ball. He needs to play 10-15 min role player max per game going forward.
@kenzofuku Kerr needs to go. Not gonna win playoff games with these fringe type players who play well on bad teams. Kuminga was giant miss by Kerr /dunleavy. They hitch their wagons to role players who not gonna be playing on high level playoff teams. Anthony lamb, Pat Spencer,tyJerome
@BITCOINFUNDMGR@Andrs63892935 So you changed your upward target from this morning? Now you think we head down under 6800 before going up? https://t.co/3azUMRBOWK
@AdamMancini4 My question, what point amount represents level to level? “level to level trade management is everything. If you lock in gains systematically level to level, then as long as you have a half decent entry, you will stack gains on all those moves that only go a few levels and reverse”
