Look at all these people addicted to their coffee… 😂
Me? No, I’m not addicted. I’m just standing in this long line because I really enjoy lines.
But it got me thinking: I wish I pined for Jesus as much as I pine for coffee when I first wake up in the morning.

A DEA officer stopped at our farm yesterday, he said “I need to inspect your farm for illegal growing drugs.” I said “Okay, but don’t go in that field over there.” The DEA officer verbally exploded saying, “Mister, I have the authority of the Federal Government with me!” Reaching into his rear pants pocket, the arrogant officer removed his badge and shoved it in my face. “See this badge?! This badge means I am allowed to go wherever I wish…. On any land!! No questions asked or answers given!! Have I made myself clear?…. do you understand?!!” I nodded politely, apologized, and went about my chores. A short time later, I heard loud screams, looked up, and saw the DEA officer running for his life, being chased by my big old mean bull…. With every step the bull was gaining ground on the officer, and it seemed likely that he’d sure enough get gored before he reached safety. The officer was clearly terrified. I threw down my tools, ran to the fence, and yelled at the top of my lungs “Your badge, show him your badge 🤣🤣
Donald Trump is the man Democrats and Hillary Clinton warned would start a nuclear war. They said he was unprepared for the job and incapable of making major decisions at 3 o'clock in the morning when the phone rings. However, the calamity they warned might befall the United States and the world under his leadership seems to be happening right now, and no one knows where we're headed.
You can criticize Donald Trump if you want. You can even criticize him for tweeting, golfing a lot, and watching cable news often, only to turn around and describe journalists as the enemies of the people. But in four long years, the world wasn't on the brink of WW3. There was no new war, and the old wars were winding down. He would have brought all American troops home if it were up to him, but the military-industrial complex did not want that, as it's how money is made here in Washington.
The Abraham Accords, bilateral agreements on Arab-Israeli normalization signed between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain on September 15, 2020, were not perfect but constituted a significant step for peace in the Middle East. While some critics have pointed out that Palestine was barely mentioned, the region seemed stable.
Now, the world appears to be rapidly heading toward World War Three after less than three years of the Biden presidency. Ukraine and Russia are at war, Hamas and Israel are at war, instability in Ethiopia continues to escalate, and Iran may enter the war. Turkey, Egypt, and even China may become involved, and Russia may join the Middle East conflict to support Iran. It's a total global mess right now.
These are troubling times that indicate a leadership failure. What is surprising, though, is that many Republicans are encouraging and funding these wars, unaware that they not only fail to lead to victory but also enrich only the military-industrial complex, while feelings of victory and revenge remain high.
These wars leave the world in chaos, cost hundreds of thousands of lives, and billions of dollars, as well as divert attention from domestic issues, ensuring that those in power are re-elected, as they tell the people to give them more time to defeat a foreign enemy. I pray for peace and stability to return. May God help us.
Christ in the House of His Parents.
By John Everett Millais
1849
Depicts the Holy Family in St. Joseph's carpentry shop.
This painting was very controversial and received negative reviews, including from Charles Dickens, because of its realistic portrayal of a carpentry shop, including the dirt on the floor. The painting was considered to be a radical portrayal of Christ.
Jesus has cut His hand on an exposed nail, symbolizing the stigmata and foreshadowing the crucifixion.
St. John the Baptist brings in water to wash the wound.
Jesus's grandmother, St. Anne removes the nail with pincers.
Blessed Mother Mary offers her cheek to Christ for a kiss.
In the background, a ladder on the back wall symbolizes Jacob's ladder.
A dove representing the Holy Spirit rests on the ladder.
The sheep seen through the doorway represent the future Christian flock.
Cardinal Sarah: "There is a serious illness in the Liturgy"
Cardinal Robert Sarah gave an interview to Valeurs Actuales. Here is a summary:
• The idea that we are all going to Heaven is not in the Gospel.
• Sin must be denounced and the guilty must be punished.
• Islam is spreading because we [Catholics] are neither missionaries nor fervent in our faith. The advancement of Islam reveals the Christians' tibbility. We don't dare evangelize.
• Liturgy obeys coded standards, inherited from a thousand generations, but Catholic liturgy is sick today.
• Why are so many young people fascinated by ancient liturgy? Let's be honest. It would be very easy to simply say that everyone has a psychological need for identity. But wouldn't it be better to admit that many celebrations disappoint them?
• Liturgy is sometimes believed to be more accessible through the use of secular music, artificially relaxed attitudes, removal of sacred separations and architectural leveling of churches. This is a tragic illusion. All these choices take us further away from God.
• I want to be explicit about Traditionis custodians. There is deep unhappiness and real suffering in the Church surrounding the liturgy.
• Often, parish liturgies are not faithful to Vatican II. For example, Gregorian singing takes the first place, as was requested?
• Current liturgical practice must evolve. It should incorporate the best elements of the ancient in the light of the Council: the Deum or the Cross oriented celebration, the broad use of Latin, the use of the old offering or the prayers said at the foot of the altar.
• A cult that doesn't become culture is an illusion.
• What is happening in Germany [German Synod] is scary. It is an attempt to abandon the Gospel, an attempt at apostasy. The Church there is very rich, very dependent on the State, very connected to the world.
• [The German church] believes that by copying the Protestants, who bless same-sex unions and appoint women as pastors, will succeed. Yet these German Protesting communities have almost no vocation or faith! So, what are we running after?
Donald Trump has been nominated for Speaker of the House and he has effectively said he would be happy to serve in that capacity on a temporary basis.
Here, we have a situation that would be intriguing for Trump. Imagine if he became Speaker, even just for 100 days:
He comes in,
-Calms the waters in the Republican Party
-Investigates and impeaches Mayorkas
-Launches an investigation into the DOJ and Merrick Garland
-And if he were able to impeach Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, he’d become president again
Now THAT is a Netflix special I would watch!
In 1960, Giuseppe Cardinal Siri, Archbishop of Genoa, published a pastoral letter on modesty in dress for which he was roundly mocked. However, in point of fact, the Cardinal was among the first to sound the alarm on what is known now as gender theory.
“The wearing of men’s dress by women affects firstly the woman herself, by changing the feminine psychology proper to women; secondly it affects the woman as wife of her husband, by tending to vitiate relationships between the sexes; thirdly it affects the woman as mother of her children by harming her dignity in her children’s eyes.
The clothing a person wears, demands, imposes and modifies that person’s gestures, attitudes and behavior, such that from merely being worn outside, clothing comes to impose a particular frame of mind inside. Therefore, wearing (unisex fashions) is the visible aid to bringing about a mental attitude of being ‘like a man,' and to some degree indicates her reacting to her femininity as though it is inferiority when in fact it is only diversity.
Out of charity we are fighting against the flattening out of mankind, against the attack upon those differences on which rests the complementarity of man and woman. When we see a woman in trousers, we should think not so much of her, as of all mankind, of what it will be when women will have masculinized themselves for good. Nobody stands to gain by helping to bring about a future age of vagueness, ambiguity, imperfection and, in a word, monstrosities.”
