SUDAN CONFLICT
Open Letter on Peace in Sudan
Dear Africa,
CONFERENCE TO BRING PEACE IN SUDAN
To the leaders of Africa, I give notice that I have today started to lobby the AU ,UN , EU ,UK and USA to call for a peace conference on Sudan.
So my starting point will Ethiopia @AbiyAhmedAli and the next will be Ghana @JDMahama and Zimbabwe @edmnangagwa. These will form the contact group that will sell the ideas to the rest
The institutions that carry our shared hopes, and the people whose futures are bound together across this continent must help me to achieve peace in Sudan .
I write with urgency and concern regarding the continuing conflict in Sudan. The suffering of civilians, displacement of families, destruction of homes, and disruption of essential services are not only a Sudanese tragedy, but an African concern.
Peace in Sudan is not simply the absence of war. It requires the protection of civilians, access to humanitarian aid, accountability for abuses, and an inclusive political process that allows the people of Sudan to determine their future.
I call upon the African Union, regional leaders, neighboring states, and international partners to intensify diplomatic efforts toward:
An immediate and sustained ceasefire;
Safe humanitarian corridors;
Protection of civilians and medical infrastructure;
Meaningful negotiations involving credible civilian representation.
Africa has the capacity and responsibility to support peaceful resolution through dialogue, mediation, and principled leadership. Silence or delayed action carries a human cost measured in lives, livelihoods, and generations of instability.
To the people of Sudan: your suffering is seen, and your demand for peace, dignity, and stability matters.
Let this moment be met not with indifference, but with coordinated action and moral clarity.
Peace for Sudan is hope for Africa.
Sincerely,
Dr. David Nyekorach-Matsanga

Zimbabwe’s national athletics team returned home through the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport this Tuesday following a successful campaign at the African Athletics Championships in Ghana, where the country secured four medals, one gold, two silver and one bronze.
The team was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture Honourable Emily Jesaya, National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe president Tendai Tagara, and officials from the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee.

Ndogona kudya USD 1$ million yako ndapedza ndokuti pfutseki, says Hon John Paradza as he rallies the youth behind the party ideology over personal gain.
I support this idea
We need a new state house built by Zimbabweans
ED is running the ground running at our own pace
China has Xi Jinping
We have ED
Give him time to finish all his ideas
I am deeply proud of the six beneficiaries from humble backgrounds under the Angel of Hope Foundation aviation scholarship, who are currently undergoing training at CATS Aviation Training Academy at Charles Prince Airport. They are now confidently flying solo and making steady progress in their training.
Their discipline and determination continue to inspire many across Zimbabwe as they turn their dreams into reality in the skies.
Among the beneficiaries are three young women, reflecting the programme’s continued commitment to empowering the girl child and ensuring equal opportunity for all to excel and thrive in aviation and beyond.
This is a huge disgrace from @capsunitedfczw fans. The owner of Caps United is a ZANU-PF member and an honorable Member of Parliament. Seeing such a song directed at fellow members, a football club owner, and one of the biggest football sponsors is unbecoming. Madzibaba Chivhayo @wicknellchivayo has a long history of sponsoring football in Zimbabwe, including even the national team. Who still remembers Pasuwa receiving a Toyota Hilux from Madzibaba? Honorable Scott Sakupwanya has changed the face of football in Zimbabwe, which has now attracted so much attention from multinational companies to invest in our local football. His company, Betterbrands, is sponsoring other football teams across the country.
I hope the President of Caps United, Cde Farai Jere, and Caps United management will issue a statement against unwarranted attacks on his colleagues from his team's supporters.
A handful of opposition activists -barely 15 people -are now trying to hijack the football space to push their tired anti–Black millionaires narrative.
Billionaire Cde @wicknellchivayo and Hon. Scott Sakupwanya have made major, tangible contributions to the football community. Their impact deserves recognition, not cheap shots from the sidelines.
We cannot allow a tiny, noisy minority -yes, fewer than 15 individuals -to dominate headlines or distort the national conversation.
Today, on Mother’s Day, I join the nation in celebrating and honouring all mothers, grandmothers and caregivers whose unwavering love, sacrifice and guidance continue to shape our families, communities and the future of Zimbabwe.
Mothers are the heart of the family and the backbone of our society. Through their nurturing hands, wise counsel and enduring strength, they raise children, preserve family values and inspire hope for a better tomorrow.
Their selflessness and resilience embody the spirit of Ubuntu, compassion, hard work and unity that define us as Zimbabweans.
Let us appreciate, support and protect mothers every day, build a caring inclusive society recognising women’s role in development and nurturing future generations, and wish all mothers in Zimbabwe and beyond a peaceful, joyful, blessed Mother’s Day, with God’s guidance.
One thing I have noted from a handful of people who are opposing CAB3 is that they are full of insults, personal attacks, and threats, contributing nothing meaningful to this whole debate. It's only seven days left before Parliament does the first readings of the proposed amendment bill, and it's all about personal attacks. Yes, they say politics is dirty, but modern-day politics is about deliverables. This is where ZANU-PF @ZANUPF_Official, led by President E.D. Mnangagwa @edmnangagwa, scores more goals in every political debate because, within a short period full of challenges like Cyclone Idai, the COVID-19 pandemic, sanctions and not getting funding to fight the pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine war that affected the global South including Zimbabwean agriculture, and most recently the USA-Israel war against Iran, Zimbabwe has become the fastest-growing economy in the region.
WORLD DONKEY DAY
On 9 May 2026, Tsholotsho community marked World Donkey Day alongside the opening of a private veterinary surgery built in 2025. The facility, run by Working Animals International (formerly SPANA) and Aware Trust, features consultation rooms, a theater, dog cages, donkey stables, a circular exercise area, and a harness sewing room. Aware Trust has operated in the district since 2016, running rabies vaccination, dog sterilization, and animal welfare campaigns. Celebrations included visits from veterinary officials and WAI CEO Ms. Linda Edwards. Officials praised donkeys for their multipurpose role in agriculture, transport, and companionship. WAI offers mobile donkey clinics in Nkunzi and Sipepa villages and school clubs on donkey care during floods and droughts. Country Director Dr. Keith Dutlow noted that adding donkeys to the stock register supports sustainable development. The Tsholotsho Rural District Council called the initiative a mindset shift toward resilience and inclusion. Ms. Edwards thanked the community for valuing donkeys and pledged continued support.
