I interviewed people at Shell for years, and here is the quiet thing almost no one tells you.

You are not rated on results alone. You are rated on the how, not just the what.

Two engineers run two projects. Both fail to hit target. One gets sidelined. The other gets promoted. Same outcome, different fate.

The difference was never the result. It was behaviour. The one who won gave daily updates, pulled his bosses into the problem early, and ran a lessons-learned session when it was over.

He turned a failed project into proof that he was safe to bet on.

Deliver, yes. But learn to be seen delivering. In most rooms, that is the actual skill.

I realized that except the Lord strengthens, upholds me, I might not be able to finish this well.

That's why I acknowledged God first to keep me on track as stated in Proverbs 3.6 MSG

This is why I decided to stick to a course, learn it, master it like my depend on it, so that I can;

Land a role as Web Developer while getting paid in USD.

So that I could place my mum on a monthly salary.

Also be free from the bond of not having enough.
Lastly, train others

Until recently when I was so mad at myself seeing folks who are so resolved, and committed to just a course, finish it, and after a few days to weeks, monetize their skills through jobs securement or teaching others what they know.

I have started:

→ Data Analytics
→ Cybersecurity
→ Graphics Design
→ Video Editing
→ Cloud Computing
→ Full Stack Engineering.

Yet, never I have ever completed one.

Aside from the technical phone repair service I offer to my mates on campus, I have been meaning to learn a relevant, high-demand tech skills since 2022.

I have started many but never saw any to the end.

I was always motivated to start but never had to finish any.
