I have been in the hospital this week having lots of tests run. So thankful I can Google the results and get SGE, Featured Snippets, and PAA results that all say something different, all above the fold and before actual websites. Thanks @Google. #sarcasm
I’m probably going to have to tweet this 20 times in the next 2 months but:
The site reputation abuse portion of Google’s update doesn’t roll out until May 5
“Parasite SEO” will probably keep working in some capacity until then
You’re gonna keep seeing 3rd party sponsored content in top positions for high volume “best” keywords
Google gave us a literal countdown for this.
We’ve been eclipsed!
In 1923, Bryce Canyon experienced a partial eclipse during a total solar eclipse that passed along the Pacific coast. For our centennial year we’ve now come “full circle” with today’s “Ring of Fire” eclipse.

Are you using the tag feature on WordPress? If so, why? Seriously, why? They are usually garbage for SEO and doesn't seem like has much value for users either.
There are two types of SEOs: Those who are naturally suspicious of Google, and those who aren't. The first group has seen some shit, the second group will eventually see some shit if they stick around long enough.

- Create pivot table that shows highest traffic keywords
- Add a column for how many distinct URLs are driving traffic for that query
High traffic / low URL count = often big SEO opportunities

Someone on my team sent me this link to this blank page that is ranking for a moderately competitive term. So naturally, I am figuring out how at 11 pm on a Wednesday night because I can’t stop myself. #SEO
SEO advice directly from Google:
"Don’t just copy content from other websites, because google will easily recall reading it before, and draw conclusions about the amount of value your content can bring as a search result." 🤔
I made chocolate chip cookies tonight. My wife asked what recipe I used, I told her the second organic search result for the keyword “chocolate chip cookie recipe”. She told me that was the nerdiest thing I have ever said. #SEO
The title tag for both the first and second result was “Best Chocolate Cookie Recipe Ever”. I’m gonna go ahead and let you know, it wasn’t. Didn’t even break top 5. #SEO
