My name is Michael. I joined the Army at age 17, and passed basic training and AIT in the top 10% at both. I had dreams, goals, and aspirations. I scored a 110 GT (general/technical), and I also scored 110 on the DLAB (defense language aptitude battery). What I did not expect was a positive HIV test. I’m not gay, woke, or anything remotely close to the alphabet brigade. I’m not an IV drug user either. But they crucified me, violated every right I had under the UCMJ, and forced me out of active duty service. I’m still here 39 years after the fact. I’m proud to say that the final order of “go home and die” was adamantly ignored and denied. Y’all torched my records during Bush Senior’s final year in office, after receiving a letter of intent to sue from my lawyer. Again… I’m Still HERE!
