Stop Dancing Around This Fruitless Debate on Eternal Salvation

The path of the just was meant to be one straight line, upward and forward movement only
Upward in our vertical ascents into the heavenlies from glory to glory
Forward in our horizontal movements from exploit to exploit.

Egypt forgot how to build the pyramids.

No army invaded them. The knowledge just stopped getting used, and the moment it did, it was gone.

Same collapse. Compressed into fifty years instead of a thousand.

“In 1969, we were able to send somebody to the moon… Then the space shuttle retired, and the United States could take no one to orbit.”

“People are mistaken when they think that technology just automatically improves… it will, by itself, degrade.”

Believers are also forgetting now how to hear from God, practise the presence of God, enter into encounters with the Holy Spirit and angels, ascend into the heavenlies, see visions, perform signs and wonders, deliver supernatural verities, bring a shift in atmospheres and environments by the power of the Holy Spirit, display the power of God unhindered and unencumbered in the face of adversity, walk in boldness and the Spirit of might, engage the seven Spirits of God in their ministries and lives and so much more.

Capability doesn’t sit in a vault. It only exists inside the people doing the work right now.

The second they stop, it doesn’t pause.

It disappears.

That should not scare you. It should focus you.

Nobody loses a civilisation to war. They lose it the moment they stop building.

Nobody is owed the future. It belongs to whoever keeps building it.

Abraham had a relationship with God, the relationship was so good that God and angels came to sit with him in his tent to share a meal

Melchizedek walked up to him and hailed him as the possessor of heaven and earth after meeting him for the first time

God made a covenant that secured the eternal salvation of all the families in the world with him from generation to generation.
It was his obedience that led to the divine exchange of sons, which made every believer a Son of God, while Jesus referred to himself as the Son of Man, often in recognition of this covenant

Isaac didn’t have such a fantastic relationship with God

Jacob and Esau almost had no tenable relationship with God apart from enjoying the benefits of the covenant God had with Abraham

There was no record of Isaac sitting with God and angels or of Esau meeting with God and the Ministering Spirits or even ever having a proper conversation that would make God refer to either of them as a friend or a covenant partner.

Jacob saw a ladder with Angels ascending and descending upon it in a dream. He didn’t know how to engage Angels. He said God was here and I know it not, so he named the place where this happened BETHEL.

It was a place of sighting God, not a place of encounter with God.

When he got into trouble later, he came back to Bethel, and there he had an encounter with an angel of God.
Jacob was looking for material blessings, but God wanted to renew and establish the already existing covenant he had with Abraham with him

Jacob had twelve sons, and none of them had a strong relationship with God. Joseph was an exceptionally moral and spiritually aware person, but his relationship with God cannot be compared to that of Abraham.

Even his description as the father of faith was earned simply because he believed God when God spoke to him, and he obeyed.

He knew God after the flesh and was instrumental to God’s plan in many ways, but he never had a one-on-one meeting with God or a sit-down with angels or even a vision of heaven, the future and eternity.

Comparing relationships among the patriarchs, Abraham wins hands down.

The era of Moses came, and like Abraham, Moses knew God beyond the senses and sight.
He journeyed with God and into God, and the evidence of this is still felt all over the world till today from his writings in the Bible and the evolution of the Jewish monotheistic religion and constitution.

We saw first-hand the miracles that those who have journeyed with God can do and how they can use the anointing of the Lord to bring about real and significant change in the realm of powerful kings, kingdoms, nature and even bring demonic powers to their knees.

Pharaoh’s sorcerers called the power Moses was wielding the “Finger of God”

Then Moses died, and we saw on the record that he received the Spirit of wisdom, parted the Jordan supernaturally as Moses would have done or had done before with the Red Sea, but he only met with an angel once when he was looking for a means to defeat Jericho.

Again, compare Moses with Joshua, and you will see that the first generation always had a vertical relationship with heaven and a horizontal reality of power and exploits on the earth that is tangible and destiny-defining.

The second generation, however, seems content to live off the ease the first generation provided, and by the third or fourth generation, the people would have forgotten there was a God of covenant, and they would be fully in their flesh and doing things with only human wisdom all over again.

This trend continued throughout the Bible except for some anomalies.

Enoch and Methuselah

Eli and Samuel and Samuel’s sons, David-Solomon-Rehoboam, Daniel-Nehemiah, and so on

The anomalies were Elijah-Elisha, Jesus and the Apostles

The problem of retaining that which was received in vertical gains and building on it for greater exploits and understanding of the things of the Spirit is multigenerational

Look at Kenneth Haggin and all the exploits, by now those who trained under him should be doing “greater works” and no be building a monument around this one anointed man where his exploits are rehashed and studied and read but without the necessary impact of the Spirit of Light that would empower those who knew him to walk in a higher level of grace than he did (So we cannot see the upward and forward movement here but we can see circular. As believers we skirt, or circle round about doctrine instead of walking upward and forward continually)

I have read about Wigglesworth, A.W. ToZer, A. A. Allen. B.B. Bosworth, The Wesley Brothers, Charles Finney, Kathryn Khulman, Benny Hinn, ArchBishop Benson Idahosa, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Bishop Oyedepo and many more

Those of us coming behind them should build on their legacies vertically and horizontally by moving away from petty doctrinal differences into the realm of exploits

At what age do you expect me to be debating Once saved, always saved versus Salvation is not eternal security with you? You and who?

Did you not see it boldly written in the book of Hebrews that it is a shameful thing that those who ought to be teachers are still in need of someone to teach them the ELEMENTARY truths of God’s word all over again? Instead of moving from milk to solid food, they are still infants who live on milk and are not acquainted with the teachings about righteousness.

Solid food is for the mature who, by constant use (not debates and trending hashtags online or looking for talking points) have trained themselves to distinguish divine enlightenment from carnal engagements.

In other words, we cannot keep arguing about mundane things when we ought to lock in our elementary belief systems and build on them a relationship with God that transcends arguments and debates into irrefutable proofs that would help the next generation do better than the ones before them. We cannot keep skirting a mountain while deluding ourselves that we are marching towards a goal.

It does not matter if you believe you can lose your salvation or not.

Baba Adeboye believes salvation can be lost, and he is doing exploits in His walk with God with irrefutable proof.
Baba Okonkwo believes salvation cannot be lost and he is doing exploits in His walk with God with irrefutable proof.
Pastor Kumuyi believes you can lose your salvation, and he is doing greater works with irrefutable proofs globally.

The apostles in Acts 15 argued over doctrines all night; this did not stop Paul and Peter from working diverse kinds of miracles on the streets of Jerusalem some days later

Whatever you believe is your elementary conviction upon which you must build your relationship with God, and move on from milk to solid food so that you will not hand this argument to the next generation, but you will deliver to them a legacy of supernatural exploits and dimensions of power which is far better than the ones we are walking in at the moment.

If we don’t hand over this progressive understanding of the gospel to the coming generations and move on from quarterly arguments on once saved always saved like broken records, we will not be able to do the exploits that we all ought to desire because the apostles did them with ease.

You are not in an abusive marriage, but you are taking advice from someone who survived an abusive marriage. Where is the wisdom in that?

Your husband has been open and forthright with you in every way, but you are taking advice from someone whose husband has been unfaithful and needed to do everything to protect herself. Where is the wisdom in that?

You have a husband who is happy to do house chores with you, pay the bills, and treat you like a queen. You meet a friend who saw the way your husband treats you and says to you, "Your husband is a weak man," and you react by telling your husband to man up and act like a real man! Where is the wisdom in that?

You have been happily married for several years, your husband splits the bills with you, but he sorts out the plumbing, car maintenance, house maintenance, bin trashing, and other masculine chores while you own your kitchen, do the laundry, and other feminine chores.
A big sister in church told you that you are allowing your husband to treat you like a wash hand basin? Push back, assert your independence and authority....And you did it? Where is the wisdom in that?

You and your husband have been living in joy and bliss for over four years.
He likes to party, and even though you really don't like to party, you adapted, and both of you will spend the weekends attending one function or the other. Your husband called you his soul mate, and you realised that by doing what he liked with him, he grew very fond of you and became even more committed to your union.
You got pregnant, and your mother came to help you out because you were placed on bed rest. Your husband didn't slow down; he continued to party hard every weekend, just like you both usually did. He would have served no useful purpose staying at home with you anyway.
Your mother began to bicker and complain.
You are spending all your time and money on parties when your mates are building houses and buying cars.
Did you come to New York to become a socialite?
Wouldn't you do something tangible with your earnings while you are still young?
Your mother's sermons stung you and changed you.
You began to resent your husband, you resumed work and began to keep a separate account number, you began to buy properties in your name, and you changed so much that your husband didn't recognize his wife again.
Within two years of your mother's visit, you were divorced.
What is the wisdom in that?

Women have no business giving other women advice. One woman cannot truly understand or represent the reality of other women.
When it comes to marriage, every wife has been given the wisdom to work with her own husband.
The template for one will not work for the other

Some years ago, two young ladies would sneak out of secondary school to meet their boyfriends, who were undergraduates.
One of the ladies got pregnant, and her boyfriend took her home to meet his parents, and his father accepted her and the pregnancy.
They threw a lavish wedding for the couple with a honeymoon in Italy.
The other lady was at the party, and she began to do everything in her power to get pregnant for her boyfriend, too.
She did.
He told her to abort it, and she refused
She went to meet his mother behind his back to report to her that he had gotten her pregnant and told her to abort the pregnancy.
His mother said, "Go and have the baby at your parents' house. When the baby is one year old, bring the baby to me. The children of his older ones are all here with me. Bring your baby to join them. We don't get married in this family; we, however, encourage having many children."
It was not the response she expected
Her boyfriend's mother was a judge. She was well educated, and she was a Christian. Her boyfriend was the only son and the last child. She was expecting a glorious reception, wedding bells, baby shower, honeymoon in Dubai, shopping in Europe, and so on.
She ended up spending two years out of school and dropping the baby off with his grandmother as instructed when she gained admission to the polytechnic.

There is no wisdom in listening to someone whose lifestyle and experiences are not yours or trying to replicate something that happened to someone else in your marriage and relationships.

Remember this.

The death verdict has been overturned. That which I dared not share with anyone has become a testimony of the redeeming power of the Holy Spirit. I got home and headed straight to the hospital, brimming with faith and assurance that stage four cancer has been completely defeated. I was right! God honoured my faith. The doctor said it was incurable because it was a genetic mutation in the brain. God flushed it out. Brother Gbenga, the retreat was my pool of Siloam. Overcoming A Weak Mentality

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).
Anything is possible! This should be your mentality.

Never think defeat, failure or weakness. Cultivate the winning mentality; the mentality that believes and affirms, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13). That’s the victor’s mentality, and you develop it through the Word.

It doesn’t matter what your life has been like or the experiences you’ve had; one thing is certain: you’re a victor in Christ Jesus!, Irrespective of the affliction, tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, destitution, perils, wars etc., that may be ravaging today’s world, you’re more than a conqueror: “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:37).

Trust the Lord and hold on to His Word. When you go through challenges, don’t complain! The Lord knew there’d be challenges, but He gave us the assurance that we’ll be triumphant always: “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place” (2 Corinthians 2:14).

Your victory is a settled fact. 2 Corinthians 4:17 says, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory”; this is a present-hour truth. Nothing is, and can ever be to your disadvantage. Romans 8:28 declares, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Have this consciousness!

When your faith is little, you’ll be oppressed and tormented by fear of circumstances, hence your faith will not work. Faith and fear don’t go together. Fear hinders faith, but faith destroys fear.

The reason some Christians find themselves doubting God’s Word is that their faith is little. Remember, little faith will not get the job done. It may get it started, but it won’t get it done! What do I mean?

I’ll illustrate with this example. Jesus had just finished preaching in the desert and performing the miracle of feeding five thousand men (women and children not counted) with five loaves and two fishes. Then He instructed His disciples to go ahead of Him by ship to the other side of the Sea of Galilee.

Shortly after they set out, their ship ran into contrary winds and was tossed about by the waves. To worsen things, at about the fourth watch (between 3 and 6 a.m.), they saw a figure approaching them on the water. The Bible says when Peter and the other disciples saw this, they all screamed in fear because they thought they had seen a ghost:

“And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. AND PETER ANSWERED HIM AND SAID, LORD, IF IT BE THOU, BID ME COME UNTO THEE ON THE WATER. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me” (Matthew 14:26-30).

Notice this statement Peter made to Jesus: “If it’s You, ask me to come to You on the water.” Jesus called to him and said “Come!” Peter came out of the ship and walked on the water to Jesus. He didn’t swim in the water to meet Jesus, he walked on it! As a fisherman, he could swim, however, this time he did something supernatural, he walked on the water. He stepped out of the boat, right on the water and took his steps toward the Master, because the Master had said to him, “Come!” That’s faith!

I would like to draw your attention to the thirtieth verse. It says, “... when he (Peter) saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.”

Peter saw the contrary wind and became afraid. As a result, he started sinking right in the presence of Jesus. Why did Peter begin to sink? What happened to the faith that got him out of the boat and started him out walking on water? The answer is in Jesus’ response to his cry for help:

“And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” (Verse 31). Peter’s faith was little, that was why he began to sink.

Remember, I said little faith will not get the job done. It may get it started, but it won’t finish it. It got Peter out of the boat and put him on the water; it even started him walking on it but couldn’t sustain him when the winds became boisterous.

When the contrary winds and adversities of life begin to blow in your face, your strength will fail if your faith is little. Little faith achieves very little. When your faith is little you can be terrorized by fear. You’ll always fear adversity and be uncertain about the future.

This is what happened to Peter. Fear and doubt gripped his heart when he saw the boisterous winds. But thank God he had enough sense to cry out to Jesus for help and “...immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him...” (Matthew 14:31).

Jesus attributed the reason Peter began to sink to doubt. After saving him from drowning, He said to him, “O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” In other words, if Peter had not doubted, he would have completed his walk on the water to Jesus and back to the boat hitch-free. Doubt and fear are the result of little faith

A matter that should have been resolved with deadly force! Making a statement that everybody will get loud and clear that you will not bow to such underhanded tactics has been allowed to be turned into a political tool in the hands of activists and political jobbers.
A classic playbook by the weak, which ought to have been torn to shreds by the strong!

June Is The Month of Rulership

The Lord says I have given you access to seats of authority and dominion in the realm of governance, business, leadership, and entertainment
The Lord says I have given you dominion over money, every currency made by man, and the resources of value, both natural and man-made
The Lord says I have given you rulership over your territory, over your systems and structures, according to the time of life
The matters of the Strait will be resolved
The prophetic shall be the guiding light upon which many shall ride into fulfilment
Expect a lot of ascensions
Activation of angelic interactions shall be recorded globally
Many who had been waiting for many years to get their good news will get it this month
Expect fresh rains and fresh dews all over the church
Those who have been knocking for long shall experience the thrill of open doors
Autism, Speech delay, and other issues with speech and the voice box shall be cleared completely
It shall be a month of clarity and purposeful movement
The Throne Room shall be a dwelling place of delight for so many consciously

My faith is alive, active, and prevailing; circumstances align with my faith-filled confessions, and I rule, reign, and dominate my world by my faith. I’ve taken hold of the eternal realities of the Kingdom, walking in the full blessings of the Gospel of Christ! My life is for the glory of God. The power of God is at work in me; sickness doesn’t stand a chance and cannot dwell in me. The power of God is at work in my life, I can never be defeated by disease or infirmity, in Jesus Name. Amen.

And what shall I more say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions (Hebrews 11:32-33).
As Christians, we ought to apply our faith in God’s Word to deal with situations and challenges. In the faith’s hall of fame, the Bible talks about certain men and women who, through their faith, performed great feats for the Kingdom of God (Hebrews 11:32-33). These apostles of faith subdued kingdoms and did supernatural things in their time; they ruled their world!

The Bible talked about how they wrought righteousness, meaning when others conformed to error, they stood their ground for the truth and prevailed. They were like the children of Issachar, who the Bible says had an understanding of the times (1 Chronicles 12:32).
By your faith, you too can do great things in your world today. You can work righteousness and breathe life back into situations that were hitherto dead. Through your faith, you can revive that business that’s been grounded! You can perform so well in your business or career that the world will marvel at you. Faith is your currency; rule your world with it.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (John 1:14).
God spoke the Word in recreating and restoring order to the earth after it became a dark, chaotic mass. In the midst of the darkness and chaos, He said, “Let there be light,” and light became (Genesis 1:3). The Word that gave light to the world became flesh, and dwelt amongst us in the person of Jesus.

The Lord Jesus walked the streets of Galilee, Capernaum, and Jerusalem, as the Word in human form. He lived as the Word and did everything He did with and through the Word. He healed the sick with the Word. He raised the dead with the Word, and cast out devils with the Word. He only had to speak words, and miracles ensued.
Recall how He raised Lazarus from the dead, a man who had been dead and buried for four days and who surely must have begun to decompose. When Jesus called out, “…Lazarus, come forth” (John 11:43), the man who had been dead came out alive! How awesome! Jesus lived and triumphed with words, showing us how to live in this world.

When He needed to feed the multitude, and all that was available was a little boy’s lunch (five loaves of bread and two fish), He spoke words (Matthew 14:17-21). He took the loaves of bread and fish, and invoked the power of multiplication into them, and they became more than enough to feed five thousand men, women, and children, not counted, with twelve baskets as leftovers.
He’s given us the same life wherein we triumph with words. He said in Mark 11:23, “You shall have what you say.” You can speak life to your job, finances, health, and family, and cause miracles to happen. When you speak over any situation, your words prevail. You’re a king, and where the word of a king is, there’s power (Ecclesiastes 8:4). Rule your world and dominate circumstances with words.

The Lord Jesus, while He walked this earth, lived such an exemplary life of faith. His confidence and apparent mastery over life’s circumstances is awe inspiring. He dazzled everyone with His extraordinary life of dominion. On a certain occasion, His disciples couldn’t help but ask out loud, in utter amazement: “…What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him” (Luke 8:25).

Luke 8:23-24 records for us the occasion that prompted this question from the disciples: “But as they sailed, he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.” Observe closely what the Master did: He rebuked the wind and the raging waves; that means He spoke words. He actually said, “…peace, be still” (Mark 4:39), and there was a great calm.

This gives us an insight into how He prevailed over circumstances. He ruled negative circumstances with faith-filled words. He spoke words, and blind eyes opened up, maimed limbs were restored, and deaf ears were unstopped. He spoke, and Lazarus, who was already dead and buried for four days, came back to life. He did all these to show that we can do the same; for as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).

No wonder He said in John 14:12, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do….” Rise up today and proclaim victory over that unpleasant situation. Proclaim victory in your health, family, finances, business, academics, job, etc. Declare that greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. Rule and frame your world with faith-filled words, and watch your life move from one degree of glory to another.

He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls (Proverbs 25:28).
The Bible says in 2 Peter 1:5-6, “And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness.” “Temperance” in the scripture above is the Greek word “egkrateia,” which means holding yourself in. It also means self-control; the ability to keep your cool and maintain your composure even when others try to ride roughshod over you.

Imagine you were driving, and a careless driver bumped your car. Instead of apologising, he even got abusive. What would you do? Would you pour invectives at him? Some may even alight from their car to engage in a brawl. No! That’s not for the Christian. Irrespective of the situation, restrain yourself from any form of altercation or bandy of words. This doesn’t mean you’re naïve; rather, you’re simply living out your true nature—the Christ-nature and kingly life in you.
As a Christian, you can’t afford to live carelessly; you must be able to hold yourself in from doing or saying things that could cast a dent in your Christian character. Consciously train yourself to exercise moderation in all things.

An athlete who’s gunning for a new record at the games, for example, can’t afford to live carelessly prior to the games, because it’ll affect his performance. There are things he’d have to endure to keep fit. He may not like some of those things, but because he has his eyes on the prize, he’d have to endure them. This is the picture the Word creates for us in admonishing that you add temperance to your faith.
It’s not okay to do whatever you feel like doing; always hold yourself from within. If you couldn’t do it, God wouldn’t have asked you to. Self-control is in your spirit, and to be activated when the need arises. Someone without self-control is like a city without walls, which the enemy can plunder at any time. Don’t be that way. Fortify yourself, your life, your spirit, against the adversary, and one of the ways to do that is to have rule over your spirit: self-control.

Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth (Proverbs 6:2).
There is a spiritual language for the Christian. That’s why, as a child of God, you ought to practice speaking the Word only, and always, because the supernatural life is based on your tongue. Your tongue rules your life. The Apostle James likened the tongue to the rudder of a great ship, which the captain uses to direct the ship wherever he wants (James 3:4-5).

In Matthew 12:36-37, Jesus said, “But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” Literally, this means a man will go to heaven or hell because of his tongue-work; what he said or didn’t say. The Apostle Paul’s words on salvation in Romans 10:8-10 buttress this: “…if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Your life is the character of your words. If a man’s words are confusing, his life will be confusing as well. In the same vein, if your words are wholesome, your life will be perfect, excellent, and inspiring. Proverbs 15:4 says, “A wholesome tongue is a tree of life….” Watch your words—your confessions—they control your future. Proverbs 12:18 says, “…the tongue of the wise is health.” You can keep yourself in health, peace, and safety with your words.
Talk faith, success, and increase! 1 Peter 3:10 says, “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile.” Keeping your lips from evil means keeping them from speaking fear, doubt, and unbelief. If you’ve found yourself in poverty, sickness, or anything that’s contrary to the good life that’s been given to you in Christ, it’s because you’re not using your mouth right. It’s time for you to change things.
The Bible says to let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom and spiritual understanding (Colossians 3:16). Fill your heart with God’s Word and let it come out of your mouth. With the Word in your mouth, you can frame or recreate your world. Keep talking the Word. Keep charting your victorious course through the power of your words.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith (Mark 11:23).
Proverbs 6:2 says, “Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.” This scripture underscores the precarious situation many have found themselves in today. They’ve been taken captive by their negative confessions; bound by their words. However, if you’ve been taught right, you’ll think right, and the result of that is, you’ll talk right. Moreover, when you talk right, you���ll act right. When you talk right and act right, your life will turn out right.

Our confessions rule us. When it comes to words, there’s no such thing as “I didn’t quite mean what I said.” Jesus said you shall have what you say; so don’t say it if you didn’t mean it.
Consciously speak in consonance with the Word always—over your life, finances, business, health, etc. Proverbs 18:20 says, “A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.” Here, the scripture isn’t talking about the size of your lips, but the words of wisdom pouring out of your mouth.
Proverbs 18:21 tells us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” This means you can speak life and reap a harvest of good things. Whatever you believe and voice out with your mouth is what’s going to happen in your life. This is a law of the spirit, and it works, whether or not you believe it.

I was invited to preach in a foreign country
The protocol officers were supposed to take me straight to the hotel from the airport, but I wanted to see the church and get a feel of the auditorium without the crowd
It helps sometimes to take a walk around the auditorium while praying quietly before one ministers
Especially if you are led by the Holy Spirit to do so

So I told the protocol guys to take me to the church
When we got there, I told them to wait in the car while I took a walk within the main auditorium
They argued a bit, but eventually agreed that I would be fine by myself

I went to into the church auditorium and slowly began my silent prayer walk
When I got to the rear exit of the auditorium, I saw some very beautiful decorations
They were so beautiful and compelling to the point that I felt like touching them
I touched them and several of the carefully arranged flowers fell off

Ha! What sort of trouble is this?
I began to pick them up
A lady came out of nowhere and started helping me to pick them up
I apologised to her and said, "I am willing to pay for the damages, please help me fix this."
She gave me that bombastic side eye

Two other ladies arrived on the scene with brooms in their hands
They began to help pick the flowers and rearrange them
Out of the corner of my eyes, I realised I knew one of them
She was the wife of the pastor who invited me to his church to preach

Ha! Pastor's wife, I screamed
She also recognised me at the same time
Ha! Brother Gbenga, she screamed
What are you doing here with a broom in your hand? I asked
She looked at the other ladies, and they gave us some distance
She said, "I am trusting God for a child, and I made a vow to God that I will keep his house clean until he answers my prayers."

I looked at her intently and said "So you and two other ladies sweep this huge auditorium whenever you have a service?"
She said, "No, sir, they accompany me, but I sweep it all by myself everyday sir. I have been doing this for about six months now."
Wow!
I said, "So how do you get home and give bishop good sex after this sort of manual labour?"
She kept quiet.

I said, "In Jesus name, I relieve you of this vow.
Receive your babies now as a favour from the Lord."
She fell on her knees and shouted Amen.
I signalled the other ladies over and told them that their pastor's wife would no longer be sweeping the church daily.
Their faces lit up.
It must have been daily torture for both of them to watch her labour like that for six months.

The one who gave me a bombastic side eye before, took advantage of the situation and said, "Sir, I am also trusting God to provide me with a husband. I want to be married by this time next year, I am 35 years old sir"
I smiled and said, "For helping me out earlier, whatever you ask of the Lord has been given to you by the power of the Holy Spirit".
She also said Amen.

I prayed for the third lady, too.
The third lady was the Pastor's wife's younger sister. She knelt down so many times, thanking me for setting her and her sister free from the daily labour.

This is the good news I received a year later.
The pastor's wife delivered a set of triplets, the other lady got married and delivered a baby girl, while the pastor's wife's younger sister got married too and delivered a set of twins!

So much good news to share to the Glory of God

PS: I also learnt my lessons about touching decorations when I do my prayer walk.
I now keep my hands to myself.

Understanding Discernment

Someone I know recently expressed an opinion that surprised and, in some ways, disappointed me. I said to myself, “I thought he would have more discernment than that.”

The experience caused me to reflect on the importance of discernment and the lack of it in our world. We know that people often do not see issues clearly and are easily misled because they do not think biblically. But, sadly, one cannot help reflecting on how true this is of the church community, too.

Most of us doubtless want to distance ourselves from what might be regarded as “the lunatic fringe” of contemporary Christianity. We are on our guard against being led astray by false teachers. But there is more to discernment than this.

True discernment means not only distinguishing the right from the wrong; it means distinguishing the primary from the secondary, the essential from the indifferent, and the permanent from the transient. And, yes, it means distinguishing between the good and the better, and even between the better and the best.

Thus, discernment is like the physical senses; to some it is given in unusual measure as a special grace gift 1 Cor 12:10, but some measure of it is essential for us all and must be constantly nourished. The Christian must take care to develop his “sixth sense” of spiritual discernment. This is why the psalmist prays, “Teach me good judgment and knowledge”

The Nature of Discernment

What is this discernment?

It is the ability to make discriminating judgments, to distinguish between, and recognize the moral implications of, different situations and courses of action. It includes the ability to “weigh up” and assess the moral and spiritual status of individuals, groups, and even movements. Thus, while warning us against judgmentalism, Jesus urges us to be discerning and discriminating, lest we cast our pearls before pigs

A remarkable example of such discernment is described in John 2:24-25“ Jesus would not entrust himself to them . . . for he knew what was in a man” (NIV).

This is discernment without judgmentalism. It involved our Lord's knowledge of God‘s Word and His observation of God‘s ways with men (He, supremely, had prayed, “Teach me good judgment . . . for I believe Your commandments.

Doubtless His discernment grew as He experienced conflict with, and victory over, temptation, and as He assessed every situation in the light of God‘s Word.

Discernment is learning to think God‘s thoughts after Him, practically and spiritually; it means having a sense of how things look in God‘s eyes and seeing them in some measure “uncovered and laid bare.”

Jesus‘ discernment penetrated to the deepest reaches of the heart. But the Christian is called to develop similar discernment. For the only worthwhile discernment we possess is that which we receive in union with Christ, by the Spirit, through God‘s Word.

So discernment is learning to think God‘s thoughts after Him, practically and spiritually; it means having a sense of how things look in God‘s eyes and seeing them in some measure “uncovered and laid bare”

The Impact of Discernment

How does this discernment affect the way we live? In four ways:

It acts as a means of protection, guarding us from being deceived spiritually. It protects us from being blown away by the winds of teaching that make central an element of the gospel that is peripheral or treat a particular application of Scripture as though it were Scripture‘s central message

Discernment also acts as an instrument of healing, when exercised in grace. I have known a small number of people whose ability to diagnose the spiritual needs of others has been remarkable. Such people seem able to penetrate into the heart issues someone else faces better than the person can do. Of course, this is in some ways a dangerous gift with which God has entrusted them. But when exercised in love, discernment can be the surgical scalpel in spiritual surgery that makes healing possible.

Again, discernment functions as a key to Christian freedom. The zealous but undiscerning Christian becomes enslaved—to others, to his own uneducated conscience, to an unbiblical pattern of life. Growth in discernment sets us free from such bondage, enabling us to distinguish practices that may be helpful in some circumstances from those that are mandated in all circumstances. But in another way, true discernment enables the free Christian to recognize that the exercise of freedom is not essential to the enjoyment of it.

Finally, discernment serves as a catalyst to spiritual development: “The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge comes easily to the discerning.” Why? Because the discerning Christian goes to the heart of the matter. He knows something about everything, namely that all things have their common fountain in God. Increase in knowledge, therefore, does not lead to increased frustration, but to a deeper recognition of the harmony of all God’s works and words.

How is such discernment to be obtained? We receive it as did Christ Himself—by the anointing of the Spirit, through our understanding of God’s Word, by our experience of God‘s grace, and by the progressive unfolding to us of the true condition of our own hearts.
That is why we also should pray, “I am your servant; give me discernment”

When you pray in other tongues, your spiritual eyes are opened to understand the Scriptures in a greater light. This is my daily experience. Sometimes, people ask me how I got the interpretation to certain Scriptures they had read but didn't clearly understand. Always, I'd reply that it's by the Spirit.

When you spend time to pray in other tongues, the eyes of your understanding are enlightened and you become more receptive to the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Praying In Tongues Provides Us With Heaven's Vocabulary One of the most beautiful and inspiring gifts from God to us is the ability to communicate with Him
directly through a spiritual language formed in us by the Holy Spirit. We speak divine mysteries and alter destinies through this supernatural effusion.

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26).

In Acts 2, the apostles, along with the other disciples of Jesus, were gathered in an upper room in Jerusalem during the Feast of Pentecost. Then something remarkable happened: they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance

Some of those present made a joke of it and derisively said they were simply drunk and full of intoxicating wine. But the truth is, they were making spiritual incantations. What exactly were they saying?
To the mockers, these disciples were only “stammering,” just as the Prophet Isaiah said in Isaiah 28:11, “For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.” It was the best way Isaiah could relate with or interpret this awesome blessing of the New Testament. They knew nothing about this in the Old Testament.
In Isaiah’s visions, he might have heard some kinds of stuttering or something similar to a speech disorder—a disorder involving hesitations and involuntary repetitions of certain sounds—revealed to him in the Spirit. But Paul had a greater insight and tells us that through those “stammerings” or “stutterings,” we speak the wisdom of God in esoteric language (1 Corinthians 2:7).

In other words, the Holy Spirit orchestrated the utterances given to us, which we speak in tongues; therefore, they’re not mere involuntary recitations or repetitions; these are incantations. Incantations are ritual recitations of words or sounds with supernatural effect, synonymous with conjuration. This is what we do when we speak in tongues
While praying, you may find yourself repeating just one syllable; continue. You’re making incantations of the Spirit; you’re speaking forth God’s plans in words and sounds orchestrated by the Holy Spirit that’ll change things and your life forever

will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also (1 Corinthians 14:15).
There’re Christians who after several years of being born again have never spoken in tongues. They’ve done themselves a great disservice. Some only spoke in tongues on the day they received the Holy Spirit. They often reminisce over that spontaneous experience they once had as though it’s meant to be a one-off experience. But the Scriptures teach that speaking in spiritual tongues is to be a regular part of your prayer life.

Speaking in tongues is a great blessing for every Christian, with inexhaustible benefits. Christians who speak in tongues often are hardly ever sick, fearful, or discouraged; they’re on top always, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.
Christianity

Having received the Holy Spirit, you’re enabled to speak in tongues of the spirit. The Holy Spirit is the One that gives the utterance to speak in other tongues. On the day of Pentecost, the Bible says, “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:4).
Notice it doesn’t say the Holy Spirit spoke with tongues; it was the disciples that spoke with tongues. They didn’t form the words from their heads; they spoke as the Holy Spirit gave them utterance.

The latter part of Acts 2:4 in The Living Bible says the disciples “…began speaking in languages they didn’t know, for the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.” The Good News Bible says “They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to talk in other languages, as the Spirit enabled them to speak.”
Some say they’re waiting for the Holy Spirit to take over their lips before they speak in tongues; that’s not how it works. You can speak in tongues anytime, anywhere, and for as long as you choose. The Holy Spirit already gave you the ability; therefore, go ahead and speak in tongues even now, as an act of your faith in the Father’s fulfilled promise in Christ.

Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret (1 CORINTHIANS 14:13)

The Bible says Jesus Christ is the embodiment of all knowledge and wisdom (Colossians 2:3); and you're complete in Him (Colossians 2:10). This is what makes it possible for you to know anything through the Holy Spirit. I admonish God's people to speak in tongues all the time, because it's the coded language of the Spirit! It's the quickest way to activate and condition your spirit to receive spiritual information and guidance.

Perhaps you require guidance for something, or there's a piece of information you need; speak in tongues. Go on until you know you've got the guidance or counsel you need, or the information you require. The answer may be given to you in your spirit, in other tongues. In that case, you'll require the gift of interpretation of tongues. This is important because if you can't interpret the answer in your understanding, you may not be able to apply it to your benefit. In that case, you'd have to ask the Holy Spirit to help you bring the message to your understanding in prophetic utterance.

If you thought you were blessed speaking in tongues, wait until you receive the interpretation! The Bible says, "Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret" (1 Corinthians 14:13); it's that simple! Ask the Lord in faith for the interpretation of the tongues you're speaking, receive the interpretation by faith, and speak it forth in your understanding.

Why is it so important to pray in tongues first before you pray in the language you understand?
Your speaking in tongues is to first to get your spirit to say the right things to God. Because if you speak in tongues, the spirit of God will bring forth the wisdom of God for you to say the prayer that you are going to say in the right way, with the right inspiration.

“Tongues is the language of heaven. It is downloaded in your spirit at the reception of the Holy Ghost. That language, when used, will change the world and change you because it is accompanied by the fire of God and is a carrier of the very essence and nature of God to any and every situation. The language of the Spirit is very personalized and individualized, marking each person with heaven’s label and tag.”
“There is much more to comprehend and understand about this gift, much more revelation to be had. As the Apostle Paul wrote, I would not have you be ignorant.”
“The more that you understand about speaking in tongues, the more you will give way to it and yield to it, growing exponentially. Speaking in other tongues is a sign to arrest, attract, and to indicate the presence of God is here. Your language is the gateway and the door to the supernatural for you. The Holy Ghost will bring the full expression of heaven through the believer.”

I was shocked when the Lord said He wouldn’t have me be ignorant. I’d been praying in tongues for decades. I certainly hadn’t thought I was ignorant about it. But the Lord said I was, so I just agreed and admitted it: I’m ignorant and need to learn!

One thing I’ve learned more about since then is the interpretation of tongues. I used to think of it just as what we do in church services—where one person gives a tongue and then somebody gives the interpretation. But I’ve come to realize it’s much bigger than that. First Corinthians 12:13 says every one of us when we pray in other tongues should “pray [for the power] to interpret.”

That means if you don’t expect to interpret when you pray in other tongues, you’ve only accomplished half your mission. You haven’t finished praying!

This is why you don’t want to do “machine gun” praying. You want to remember that you’re talking to a Person. When I talk to a friend, I don’t just talk on and on, without giving him or her any entrance. I pause and give her a chance to speak because I know she’ll have something to say.

Sometimes in prayer, we forget to do that.

We talk to the Lord nonstop, unaware that all the while He’s trying to wave us down. He’s like, “Wait! Hey! I’m trying to get the interpretation to you but you’re not listening.”

I don’t want to miss what the Lord has to say when I’m praying in other tongues. So, after I talk to Him for a bit, I like to get quiet. Then, I’ll go on and talk to Him some more. (He loves that!)

The Holy Spirit always has something He wants to get across to us. It may not come in an organized form, as interpretation comes in a church service. It may seem to come to us in pieces. But if we keep praying and believing for interpretation, the puzzle will eventually come together.

Sometimes, when you get over into the realm of the spirit, the interpretation of what you’re praying about in tongues may come to you in the form of pictures. Or maybe you’ll hear something with your spiritual ears or perceive something with another of your spiritual senses. The Lord works with me this way a lot.

I remember a few years ago, for instance, while praying in other tongues, I kept seeing one particular man.

Looking at him with the eyes of my spirit, it seemed to me he was trapped in a box or prison of some kind. I felt his confinement and heard what sounded like screams of torture. It was most alarming. But I continued to pray for him, and as I did, I heard myself calling out his name.

I didn’t know exactly what his situation was. I didn’t associate it with a war because there was no war going on at the time. Six months later, however, the war against Boko Haram started, and the Nigerian government sent soldiers over there to fight. One morning, I saw on the news that a plane had gone down in the desert. One of the soldiers on it had been captured and taken prisoner.

The soldier’s name was the same name I had called out in the place of prayer. When they showed his picture, I thought, Yes, that’s him! I knew immediately he’d make it home just fine, and he did.

In addition, I found out after the war was over that when his plane went down, he’d buried his wallet in the desert to keep the enemy from finding out about his family. Two years later, someone found it and returned it to him in perfect condition with everything still in it. That showed me that if we are obedient to pray and complete our assignment, the Holy Spirit can take care of things down to the smallest detail!

I’ve also found that when praying in tongues with a group, as we do in PSSBC classes for an hour every night or during the firebrand prayers of six hours every Thursday or the Healing school prayers every Monday for one hour, if I believe for interpretation, although I may not get it, somebody else in the group will.

I experience this several times in the place of prayer.

During our Abuja Gathering of 2023, I noticed a man at the back of the church sitting next to the door. He sat through the entire service and didn’t respond to any of the promptings to stand up, lift up his hands, or even pray with the congregation! The service ended, and we all left
The next day, we were back for The Flight, another service, and this man was back. Again, he just sat there, and I noticed that he didn’t respond to any of the instructions given to the congregation. When we started praying, he sat up. Looking startled, he suddenly grabbed his phone and began to type.

He left the meeting that night without saying anything to me. But the next night, he came back. When the meeting was over, he introduced himself to me.

“I’m with the Army Intelligence, and I was given a mission over the Islamic terrorism division,” he said. “We’ve known for a long time that there’s a jihadist training camp somewhere in the desert, but we’ve been unable to find it. As you prayed in tongues, you called out the name of the camp, over and over. Then you prayed out its exact location.”

This has since happened several times during our prophetic services every Wednesday. Secrets are revealed in such dimensions that one can only be shocked. Kidnappers’ den, terrorist cells, house maids who poisoned the food of their masters, plots against people at work, ambushments and so on.

I’d had no idea what I was saying in tongues that night. But he did!

What’s more, he told me that the reason he’d been made head of his team in Army Intelligence was that he spoke Pulaar and Hausa. (He’d learned it as a child when his parents were missionaries in Sokoto and other West African regions) “How you identified the camp’s location was a special sign to me,” he said, “because you spoke it out in Pulaar.”

The Lord wants to do more such things right now as we pray in other tongues. So, press in by faith more than ever for interpretation. Expect it and let Him lift you from where you are now to ever higher places in Him!

Learn to Respond to God's Word

Quoting scripture and responding by faith are not the same thing. Some people quote scriptures like parrots without believing or even understanding what they are really saying.

If you are quoting a scripture from your spirit, you will also respond to that scripture by taking the corresponding steps to bring it to pass

Speaking God’s Word and responding to God’s Word are two different things. Many think they’re the same, but they’re not. Most have never been taught how to respond to God’s Word and many don’t know what it is to actually speak God’s Word.

A good example of speaking the Word in response to a situation was the encounter between the Lord Jesus and Satan as recorded in Matthew 4:1-4 (read entire reference).

The Master responded to Satan, quoting the scripture that says, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). He spoke the Word; He said exactly what God already said through Moses, the Prophet.

So, when do you speak the Word? It’s mainly when Satan throws thoughts at you, and circumstances raise their voices against you. You say, “It is written,” and then go ahead to say what is written; don’t try to put it in your own words. Say it exactly as it is in Scripture. We learnt that from Jesus. He didn’t try to paraphrase or put it in His own words; He said, “It is written,” and then quoted what was written. He wasn’t trying to give the interpretation; He gave the Word. It’s one of the reasons you must have the Word of God in you richly.

Then, how do you respond to the Word? Do this by the vocalization of your faith on the basis of what God has already said. Your confession, resulting from your faith in a specific word or statement from God is your response to that Word. That’s what changes your life and circumstances.

For example, the Word says in 1 John 4:4, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” Your response should be, “Yes, I am of God and I’ve overcome Satan and the adversities of life, because greater is He that’s in me, than he that’s in the world.” Glory to God! That’s how you activate the power of the Word to produce what it talks about in your life.

…he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say… (Hebrews 13:5-6).
It’s important we understand how to use the Word of God. The Word of God isn’t about preaching or how well you can quote it; it’s about living by it. It’s about your response to what God has said.

That’s what we read in our theme scripture; it reveals an important principle: God spoke, and gave us His Word, for the purpose of our response. You ought to have a bold response to the Word always.
Now, this doesn’t mean “reciting” the same thing that God has said; and that’s where many have missed it.

For example, He didn’t say, “I will never leave you nor forsake you,” so that you may repeat the same thing, saying, “He will never leave me nor forsake me.” You have to give a response. He said what He said, so that you can respond on the basis of what He has said. So, the question is, what’s your response to God?

The powerful thing about the Word of God is your response. If you don’t respond, the Word will do you no good. You have to say something that’s consistent with what God has said.

For example, He has said, “I’m with you always”; what’s your response to that? It should be, “Yes, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want or lack anything. I prosper everywhere and in all things, because the Lord is with me; and more so, He lives in me! This is my assurance of a victorious, ever-prosperous and glorious life. Hallelujah!”

Don’t say, “O Lord, you said you’re with me; therefore, supply my needs. You said you’re with me, why am I going through this predicament?” The one who talks that way is using the wrong codes; he’s not responding but complaining; and complainers get nothing.

Don’t complain about your situation; respond with the Word. That’s Christianity. That’s the life of faith: the response of the human spirit to God’s Word. When you hear the Word of God, give it a response. Your confession of the Word is your response to the Word, and that’s what will change your life and circumstances. Praise God forever!

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me (Hebrews 13:5-6).
In Mark 7:13, the Lord Jesus reprimanded the Jews for “Making the word of God of none effect through their tradition.”

Can you imagine making the Word of God, which created the universe, of none effect? Sadly, that’s the way it is in the lives of many. The Word doesn’t work in their lives because they don’t connect with it. They hold on to their traditions against the Word.

Each time you study, or hear the Word preached and taught, connect with it, with the right attitude. Respond to the Word. This doesn’t mean to just memorize and recite the Word; no! God didn’t give us His Word just so you can quote it.

He gave us His Word to use and to live by. There has to be a response from you; if there’s no response, the Word returns without actions and its unprofitable to you.

How do you respond to the Word? The answer is in our opening scripture: you boldly say what God has said! He gave you His Word so that you may boldly respond to it, and your response must be consistent with what He said.

For example, He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”; that means you’ll never lack anything, be afraid of anything or anybody, because the Lord is with you. Therefore, no matter what happens, you’ll always win.

Now, you connect with that Word by responding accordingly; you say, “The Lord is my helper, and I shall not fear what man shall do unto me.” When you speak God’s Word in agreement with Him, you’re responding correctly. This is how you connect with the Word, and make it effective in your life.

The Death of Virtue

We saw that hypocrisy has become the order of the day. We are embracing the void of meaninglessness as a people

By and large, society has ceased to be virtuous, no longer knows what virtue is, and no longer cares.

In the absence of virtue, a great void has filled the soul, and with the void has come meaninglessness.  Unable to see a great, overarching meaning or purpose to life in general, millions no longer see any meaning or purpose for their own lives. The void has replaced virtue.

Even among believers.

What can be done to fill the void, to return to the virtuous life?

In his book, The Abolition of Man, C.S. Lewis describes the consequences of this seismic societal shift away from virtue to the void of meaninglessness:
“There is something which unites magic and applied science (technology) while separating them from the wisdom of earlier ages. For the wise men of old, the cardinal problem of human life was how to conform the soul to objective reality, and the solution was wisdom, self-discipline, and virtue. For the modern individual, the cardinal problem is how to conform reality to the wishes of man, and the chosen solution is a technique.”

Finding no transcendent meaning in life beyond dystopia or their own fairy tale wishes (both dominant themes in movies and TV today), and refusing to look to God as the supreme Sovereign and personal creator, humans naturally look to technique-solutions to cope with their sense that life has no meaning. Like band-aids on cancers, they apply techniques to cover the void.

The three such technique-solutions much in vogue today:

1. “All virtue is subjective.”
If it feels good, do it. If it doesn’t feel good, flee it.  All personal feelings and desires are virtuous.
What was once vice is now virtue – emptiness becomes fullness; death is life. It’s all in how you look at it. It’s all in how you feel about it. Ultimately, this technique denies the Creator and Truth.

2. “All virtue is personal.”
Whatever I can do, I am free to do.  Personal power as virtue.
This technique-solution is power-as-virtue: there is no objective, universal right and wrong.  This technique-solution denies the Sovereign Lord and Truth.

3. “All virtue is private.”
Whatever I want to do, I do; no one has the right to judge me. Try to judge me, and I will take you out. In the name of virtue, of course.  Personal authority as a virtue.
This option is a designer virtue: what is right for me is right for me, and what is right for you is right for you. This technique-solution denies the Eternal Judge and Truth.
In a word, each person does what is right in his or her own eyes. (Judges 21.25)

FROM INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS TO THE CONFORMING COLLECTIVE

The irony of these techniques is that they do not affirm any inherent value or worth in the individual or society. They only enforce the collective – a cold, soulless machine that runs people’s lives in the name of “the greater good.”

Because collectives disdain transcendent virtue, they create a culture where ever-changing personal feelings and societal might are the new virtues. However, as the French Revolution and many other uprisings in history have demonstrated, collectives do not affirm any value in the individual or society. They do not serve the well-being of individuals or societies. Inevitably, every collective demands that individuals bow the knee in conformity. Individuality disappears into being “just another brick in The Wall.”

Dissenting individuals are vanquished by the mob, or vanish into gulags, à la the Soviet Union decades ago or China today. Society and community are dissolved. Each is swallowed by the need to serve “the greater good,” a nebulous goal defined by those who have mastered the techniques of feelings, power, and authority. Sadly, the individual ceases to exist even as he thrusts his fist in the air and declares his freedom. Society dies even as it celebrates its liberation from the bondage of its own history. Brave new world. Papa Huxley would be proud.
It’s all made possible, even inevitable, by the removal of virtue and replacing it with the collective technique-solutions described above.

THE FINAL SOLUTION
The result of these three technique-solutions, this new system of “virtue,” is the necessary destruction of the individual. Individuals become not only meaningless but useless. They must conform to the collective or, to clear the way for our brave new world, they must be crushed. The individual loses his voice, surrendered to the shout of the mob. The individual loses his right to speak, ask a question, or even think independently. In the name of virtue, the collective demands that these most basic of human rights be sacrificed on the pyre of the collective Vox Populi vox Dei (“The voice of the people is the voice of God.”)
Further, because individuals have no sense of personal meaning, society also becomes meaningless, only an ever-changing construct, its virtue defined by power and the powerful. Without virtue, society has no internal strength to hold it together, no transcendent fabric to sustain it. Society is only a collective to be ruled with the tools of strong-and-ever-stronger technique-solutions: politics and power. Again, virtue lies dead or at least dying in the streets, trampled under the feet of the powerful as they march to enforce the edicts of the collective. All to the cheers of the enslaved.
Hello, atheistic-Marxist-new-worlders. Goodbye, each-person-uniquely-made-in-the-image-of-God.

THE TOOLS
The tools used in these techniques are several. They include two you will immediately recognize for their wide use today: values clarification and distorted tolerance.

1. Values Clarification
In the innocent-sounding “Values Clarification” technique, approved “facilitators” (not teachers) help individuals state, clarify, and then validate their own values. This is “facilitated” in the name of the individual’s health and wellbeing. But in fact, the individual is not permitted to state and defend his own values (and especially if identified as being in opposition to the facilitators’ declared values). Values are imposed on people to make them conform to the party line and give people a sense of being a part of the collective: “You are approved and accepted, whatever your values, as long as your values are not objective and conform to the party line.” This is a primary tool of fascists in schools, universities, workplaces, and “science” today.
And yet, even as people repeat the values mantra of the collective, in their souls, they feel the aching emptiness of The Void. The darkness that descends with the collective’s decreed “death” of true and transcendent virtue has robbed people of their personal sense of meaning, and their security about really awaits them in eternity. Silently, they still pray, “Is there something more? There has to be something more than this life emptied of all meaning.”

2. Distorted Tolerance
In the name of “fairness,” morality police hand out tickets to those who state or practice values outside the party line, i.e., the collective. It’s all done in the name of group health and individual wellbeing. But in reality, the purposes are, again, conformity to the party line and giving people a false sense of security: “Those who know best are watching out for the rest of us and will keep the monsters away from us.”
And yet, even as people “tolerate” vice as virtue, in their souls, they are haunted by The Void. Ironically, the emptiness that comes with bowing to the collective and its decreed death of virtue has robbed people of their sense of meaning, and their security about really awaits them in eternity. Silently, they still pray, “Is there something true, good, and noble? There has to be something true in life, something more trustworthy than this ever-changing and politically correct party line of virtues.
Both of these imposed tools are poor substitutes for internal virtue. And deep down, many people know it. Deep in their souls, they sense it. And silently, they scream for deliverance.

THE ETHICAL DILEMMA
But still, the societal temples of education and media continue to “facilitate” individuals with their technique-solutions, even calling this arm-twisting ethical: “We only force people to conform because it is the right thing to make people conform to the collective. We know what’s best for you.”
But they miss the essential point. The real source of ethics is not power. And the goal of ethics is not manipulation, i.e., forcing people to do what you want them to do. Instead, the source of ethics is virtue, life-giving, transcendent, and timeless virtue.
And the goal of ethics is helping people know, recognize, and live well in the life-giving strength of transcendent and timeless virtue.
To understand the relationship between virtue and ethics, and how, together, they help people find meaning in life, consider this analogy offered by C.S. Lewis in his classic work, “Mere Christianity.” In it, Lewis demonstrates how legitimate ethics helps people deal with three great questions in life and live well. He does so by likening people and their pursuit of wellbeing to the voyage of sailing ships:

1. First, ships need to know how to avoid collisions.
For people, this is “Social Ethics,” and this is being taught today (Social morés, sensitivity training, tolerance, political correctness, etc.)

2. Second, ships need to know how to avoid sinking.
For people, this is “Personal Ethics” (right and wrong, vice and virtue). This is not being taught today.

3. Third, ships need to know their mission, why they are at sea in the first place.
For people, this is “Personal Meaning and Ultimate Purpose.” This, Lewis writes, is not even asked, much less taught.

Little wonder then that most people today live without a sense of meaning or purpose in life. Little wonder that followers of Jesus Christ are, as Kreeft writes, “Rebels in our day, rebels in an age of relativism, of group-think imposed from the outside.”

THE VIRTUE-SOLUTION
In a society of squishy relativism and empty absurdism where nothing is understood as transcendentally true or having absolute meaning, there are no sound foundations upon which to build in the pursuit of individual or societal meaning and wellbeing. Virtue is meaningless, and ethics are empty, a mere moment-to-moment prescription imposed by those in power.
What then is the solution to such emptiness and hopelessness? The answer: a return to Biblical orthodoxy.  Not better techniques or more skilled use of tools for these idols have proven themselves empty and impotent. Not even spiritual or religious experiences for, without biblical foundations, these experiences are user-defined and, as such, open the user to falsehood and grave eternal consequences.
The only solution for our time is a return to biblical orthodoxy: the knowledge of the eternal and transcendent truth as revealed by God in the Holy Scriptures. The only answer to relativism and its absolute emptiness is the transcendent revelation of God. The only solution to absurdism and its wake of hopelessness is the eternal truth of God. The Scriptures – Absolute, Bold, and Consistent. Only the Scriptures fully and accurately explain reality, and so, provide a basis for meaning.
Not a Collective-Faith defined by and for Big Brother.  Not an I-Faith defined by and for me.  What is required is a studying, understanding, teaching, loving, and living “the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s saints” (Jude 1.3) – working and walking with others on how that orthodoxy is lived out in this present world. To be orthodox is to, without apology, believe and consistently give active agreement to The Faith taught in the Scriptures, whatever the times, the culture, the demands of political correctness, and the commands of the powers that be.
To be orthodox is to join Daniel in not only refusing to bow to the idols of our day but in throwing open the windows to fully and freely following the One who fully and willingly laid down His life for us, Jesus Christ, the Creator-Savior. To be orthodox is heroic. It is to dare to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, the One who died for us. It is to dare to join the journey of the Twelve who lived – and died – to follow Him. It is to joyfully join the great cloud of history’s witnesses who have walked in The Way as revealed in the Word of God.

BACK TO HIGH SCHOOL AND THE DOOBIES
“What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits,” the Doobie Brothers told us. They had no idea what they were saying. The following year, they released  their album, “Stampede,” followed by “Takin’ It To the Streets,” “Living On the Fault Line,” “Minute By Minute,” “One Step Closer,” and then their requiem, “Farewell Tour.”
Did you catch the progression in logic? The disintegration of life and hope? When vice becomes habit, farewell becomes inevitable for the individual and society. But let’s flip the thought.
What would happen if we could see virtue welcomed and reseated among us again?
What if the seven classic virtues could become habits? What if discretion, justice, self-control, courage, faith, hope, and love could become the “law of the land” and our hearts?
What if these seven virtues would again be welcomed and reseated among us in the church? Virtues for which we applaud rather than apologize?

The Secret Of The Prophet: Fellowship III

Hebrews 11:5 NASB “By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God.”

Enoch had such a deep fellowship with the Lord that he was translated so he wouldn’t see death. Death is not just the cessation of biological life; it represents poverty, defeat, sickness, failure or destruction. You can walk with the Spirit of God in such an intense fellowship that you enjoy His translational power over failure, poverty, defeat, sickness or any other thing the devil throws at you

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen” (2 Corinthians 13:14). The Greek word for “communion” is “Koinonia.” It expresses a very deep fellowship—a “drinking together” with the Holy Spirit where He transports you from one level of glory to another, and puts you in a place of advantage over everything and every situation.

As a child of God, your success in life is based on your walk with the Holy Spirit. Jeremiah 17:7-8 says, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will it cease from yielding fruit.”

This Scripture is talking about a life that’s not influenced by circumstances. It means the situation destroying others won’t affect you in any way, because you’re transported above them by the power of the Holy Spirit. This is God’s plan for His children, and for you to experience such translational power in your life, you must walk very closely with the Holy Spirit.

That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ (1 John 1:3).

Without fellowship, nothing you do on earth is esteemed in Heaven. That’s why the highest and most important purpose of Christ in the plan of salvation is the call to fellowship, bringing us into fellowship with God. It’s not enough that you’re born again; what God really wants is fellowship with you. That’s the purpose of the New Birth.

You can love your two-year old child very much, but you can’t have real fellowship with him or her. Real fellowship entails communication—sharing, talking at higher levels where you understand each other and exchange thoughts. This is the kind of fellowship God has called us into.

When John said, “…that ye also may have fellowship with us…,” he wasn’t talking about conversion from a certain religion to Christianity; it’s a declaration of truth. We’ve been called into partnership and togetherness with Deity. It’s the fellowship of the God-kind, a oneness of spirit. Hallelujah!

The Bible says, “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:9). We’re in union with Jesus Christ. Romans 8:16-17 explains it further. It says, “The Spirit Himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and JOINT-HEIRS WITH CHRIST….”

The underlined portion shows the kind of union we have with Him: He brought us to the same level as Himself. This is mind-blowing. But you see, you can’t function at that high level of oneness and fellowship except through the Holy Spirit. Your desire should be to fellowship more with the Holy Spirit every day.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen (2 Corinthians 13:14).

Your highest calling as a Christian is fellowship with the Lord. Without fellowship, nothing you do on earth is esteemed in Heaven. To fellowship with Jesus is to fellowship with the fullest revelation of the essence of deity. But you see, you can’t fellowship with Him except through the Holy Spirit.

That’s why I often wonder why some people think they don’t need the Holy Spirit. There’s nothing more void than a life without the Holy Spirit, because He’s the author of life. Without Him, all you have will be darkness. He’s the One who gives you light and quickens the Word of God in your heart. God’s Word won’t mean anything to you without the insight and revelation the Holy Spirit gives.

The Bible says His words are life to those who find them (Proverbs 4:22); and the way to find them is through the Holy Spirit. Your desire should be to fellowship more with the Holy Spirit every day; I mean, fellowship with participation, where you’re actively engaged with Him in a romance of righteousness.

The glorious thing about this is that, for all the successes that you achieve through the guidance and wisdom you receive as you fellowship with Him, He gives you the credit. Another beautiful impact of your fellowship with Him is that you become so mingled with Him that your body becomes His body; your tongue becomes His tongue, your hands, His hands, and your feet, His feet. Hallelujah!

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us (Ephesians 2:14).

The Lord Jesus came to bring us into fellowship with God. He came to establish an intimate relationship—a oneness between God and man so that man can truly know God; and He achieved it. In Christ Jesus, we were given eternal life; the life and nature of God was imparted to our spirits.

He said in John 10:10 NIV, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” The Christ-life in its fullness is what you received when you received Jesus as Lord of your life. The Bible says in Colossians 3:4, “Christ is our life”; He’s the life of the one who’s born again. What a Gospel!

This is what He wants us to preach and teach around the world. He said in Mark 16:15, “…Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” He wants us to let the world know that a relationship with Almighty God is possible; righteousness is possible and available. All it takes is to believe: “…whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:15). Hallelujah!

Jesus died for our sins, but He rose triumphantly from the dead after three days. His death settled the charges against us, but it didn’t make us one with God. It was His resurrection that gave us eternal life and brought us into oneness with God.

Now, Jesus Christ isn’t only the Lord of your life but also one in and by whom you’ve found rich and deep fellowship: “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ” (1 John 1:3).

1 Corinthians 1:9 says, _*“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”*_ This is what God had always wanted with man: fellowship! Jesus made it a reality. Hallelujah!

The Secret of The Prophet: Fellowship

Anyone who wants to have a good standard for praying ought to emulate Jesus. Studying His prayer life, I observed what He did that the religious people of his day didn’t do, for which reason He had such outstanding results in prayer.

He separated the labour of prayer from the fellowship of prayer. There’s such a thing as “prayer labour” or “prayer work”; you can literally count the number of times Jesus prayed this way. However, His prayer fellowship is what we really need to emulate; that’s what was different about His prayer life.

His prayer labour wasn’t different from that of the great prophets who came before Him. Moses, Joshua, Elijah, Elisha, David, etc., all prayed, and their prayers are chronicled for us in Scripture. But there was something that they didn’t have, which the Lord Jesus brought in: living in the Father’s presence in continual fellowship. This was different; this was new. Jesus lived in the Father’s presence, in continual fellowship.

The early prophets didn’t have this, because they couldn’t. If they could, they would have, because they loved God. Nevertheless, the reason they couldn’t was that they didn’t have the enablement of the Holy Spirit. Jesus did. No one can walk in such extraordinary fellowship with the Father except by the Holy Spirit. It’s His ministry and delight to bring us into that place of constant and continual fellowship with the Father.

The Father is in heaven, the Lord Jesus is in heaven, but the Holy Spirit is here with us on earth. He’s in us and with us. In Him, we have the presence of Jesus and the Father. He doesn’t come and go; we have become His dwelling place. He lives in us and has become part of our dayto- day existence. He talks to us all the time. As we listen to Him, we’re guided, instructed, led in the path of excellence, glory, dominion, and power.

Until the Holy Spirit becomes real in your life, your life will be ordinary. It’s the Holy Spirit that brings you into fellowship with God, and sanctifies you. Therefore, live in real fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Talk to Him, and listen to Him. Interact with Him.

Imagine that a particular family just moved into your neighbourhood, and they live next door to you. If you want to make friends with any member of that family, you’d make the effort to meet that person and make an acquaintance.

You’d introduce yourself to them, and would like the opportunity to regularly have conversations with them. Now, when you make these efforts to get acquainted with them, you’re recognising them. You’re introducing yourself to them because you think they’re worth the attention.

In the same way, the Holy Spirit has to be recognised. Interestingly, the word translated “spirit” in Greek, as well as Hebrew, is the same word for “wind” or “breath.”

This doesn’t mean the Holy Spirit is wind; He’s a person, and He lives in you. You’re in Him and He’s in you; so you don’t have to go next door to look for Him before you can fellowship with Him. He knows your thoughts, but you’re going to have to talk to Him because thoughts are empowered when vocalised.

So, talk to the Holy Spirit and receive from Him as well.
When you begin to enjoy this glorious, wonderful, fellowship with the Holy Spirit, you’ll realise that, indeed, He’s the greatest friend anyone could ever have, and the best teacher there is! He’d teach you about your ministry, business, finances, family, health, etc.

He’ll teach you everything, even to the minutest detail of your life. And guiding you with His power, He ensures you’re always on top; never disadvantaged, and forever victorious! Hallelujah!

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14). In the verse above, the Apostle Paul used an interesting analogy to distinguish our relationship with unbelievers.
He said, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers….”

When you have a situation, for example, where two cows are yoked to pull a plough, that’s an “equal” yoking. However, a situation where a cow and a horse are yoked is an “unequal” yoking. One will likely be dragged along and impede the progress of the other. This is what Paul tries to explain.

As a Christian, someone who isn’t born again shouldn’t be your strongest ally or most dependable confidant; that’s a wrong association; an unequal yoking. “…what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness” (2 Corinthians 6:14)? The Christian is called righteousness, while the non-Christian is called “unrighteousness.”

To further make the difference clearer, the non-Christian is called darkness, while the Christian is called light.
If you think that isn’t strong and differentiating enough, read the 15th verse; the non-Christian is called “Belial,” which represents the devil, while the Church, of which you’re a part, is called Christ. Glory to God!

Aren’t you just glad you’re born again? You’re different from the rest of the world. You see with the eyes of God. You think the thoughts of God. You’ve gone past the carnal level of life. You’re God’s man; the bearer of His righteousness, glory, and grace. You’re of a different breed; the divine breed.

Therefore, as the Bible says, “…come out from among them, and be ye separate…” (2 Corinthians 6:17). You’ve been sanctified by the Spirit; separated to God for His divine use; holy and undefiled.

This is why we preach the Gospel and pray for non-Christians around the world. It’s so they would be converted and translated into the same glorious life we have in Christ. Hallelujah!

Visualization and Discernment

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day (2 Corinthians 4:16).

The words of the Spirit by the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 let us know that we’re not to faint or give up when we face adversities. It says, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

Whatever you might be going through today, if you maintain your confidence in the Word, that particular experience will produce for you a far exceeding and eternal weight of glory. How will this happen? It’s by you refusing to look at “the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.”

That means you shouldn’t consider the things that are obvious to the optical eyes or the senses. This doesn’t mean you don’t “see” or feel that they’re present, but you’re unruffled and unperturbed by them; your gaze is fixed on the Word.

This was what Abraham did—he refused to consider the obvious adverse circumstances or what he could see and feel in the natural realm. Rather, he was strong in faith, giving glory to God (Romans 4:20). This is how God expects you to live: looking at the unseen; that’s when the miracle happens. Now, how can you look at things that aren’t seen? If they can’t be seen, how then can you look at them?

That lets you know He’s talking about seeing with your spirit. The things that aren’t seen are those things God has said concerning you in His Word; they may not be obvious to the optical eyes, but they’re real nonetheless. Likewise, whatever you’ve asked the Lord for and received with your spirit is real, even though you may not be able to relate to it through your natural senses. So, you take possession of your spirit and refuse to consider the circumstances that may try to convince you otherwise. That’s how it works.

The Lord doesn’t want you to observe situations or circumstances of life from the natural standpoint. He wants you to see the invisible, with the eyes of faith, through His Word. Whenever you trust God for something, others may not see it, but you must maintain the picture of what you see in your heart. You weren’t born for nothing; you were born for a reason! Your life is for the glory of God. The question is, can you see the glory in your life? Can you see that you’re not ordinary? Can you see that the mighty hand of God is upon you?

You’ve got to visualise it and say, “Yes, Lord! Your glory is in my life! I can see you working in me, and through me; therefore, I’ll always be a success.” It doesn’t matter if you’ve found yourself in some kind of “wilderness” right now; shift your focus to the Word. Look away from that distressing situation unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).

2 Corinthians 4:17 says, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” In other words, that pain, unpleasant situation, or challenging circumstance may have been for five years, but it’s for a moment; it indeed came to pass! It’ll work for you a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. How? By you learning to behold the invisible (2 Corinthians 4:18).

Stop looking at your present physical condition. Stop looking at your past mistakes or failures. Stop listening to or looking at the negative things people are saying about you. Instead, activate your faith-eyes to see beyond your present horizon. See God doing great things with your life, and you living out the very best of what He has prepared for you in this world.

Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105).

As believers in Christ, we’re enjoined to grow unto maturity in the things of God (Ephesians 4:13). This admonition is not just for some class of Christians, such as ministers of the gospel, but for every child of God.

Clear evidence of spiritual maturity is the ability to discern and walk in God’s perfect will for your life. God’s Word is His will expressed. And as the Psalmist describes in our opening scripture, the Word is a lamp; it’s a light which gives direction and guidance. So, you need to know God’s Word, as that’s the only way you can understand and walk in His perfect will for you.

Oftentimes, God’s will is different from what natural signs tell you, and what your feelings or those around you may tell you. The things of God don’t appeal to the senses, for they are spiritually discerned: “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14).

This is why it’s so vital that you know the Word and are acquainted with God’s Spirit through fellowship. Galatians 5:16 says, “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” Walking in the Spirit means walking in the light of God’s Word, being able to discern and walk in His perfect will, notwithstanding what your senses tell you.

Praying fervently and consistently in tongues is equally very important in discerning walking in God’s perfect will, as it keeps your spirit attuned and sensitive to the Holy Spirit.

Prayer times are moments of heavenly glory and spiritual ecstasy as your spirit is refreshed and your sensitivity to the Spirit is enhanced. As you fellowship with the Lord through prayer, it becomes easier for you to receive direction and guidance in your spirit.

Talk To The Holy Spirit Always

The foundational principles of developing a personal and intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit is through the Word of God and prayer. It’s important to yield to Him through the Word and deepen your relationship with Him through prayer. Every relationship without communication dies, irrespective of what that relationship is, whether it’s the relationship between parents and their children, spouses, co-workers, etc.

On the other hand, good communication nourishes and enhances relationships. If you’re going to have a richer fellowship with the Holy Spirit, you need to commune effectively with Him in prayer. He’s a person, and you’ve got to relate to Him as a person. Read our opening scripture again; it indicates the kind of relationship we’re supposed to have with the Lord.

The Father is in heaven, and Jesus has gone to heaven; only the Holy Spirit is here with us. The God we know and relate to today is the Holy Spirit. He makes the presence of the Father and the presence of Jesus real to you. So, learn to talk to Him. That’s why speaking in tongues is also vital. Speak in tongues often.
The Apostle Paul serves as a great example of a successful Christian and minister, and one of his secrets was fellowship with the Holy Spirit through prayer. He said, “I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all” (1 Corinthians 14:18). If Paul realized it was necessary for him to speak in tongues so much that he could say he spoke with tongues more than the whole Corinthian church, then you must recognize its importance. Speak in tongues every day and every so often, and build a sturdy relationship with the Holy Spirit.

Christians who take their fellowship with the Holy Spirit seriously are often shielded and protected from chance and unfortunate occurrences. He said in Psalm 32:8, “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with eye.” Think about that! But then, in the ensuing verse 9, He gave an important admonition: “Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle…” (Psalm 32:9).
Sometimes you hear, “Twenty-five people were killed in an inferno, and a Christian sister was among them.” Or you hear, “Brother so and so was travelling to see his parents, there was an accident, and he died.” It’s not supposed to be so! There’re no accidents or mishaps to the child of God who��s in tune with the Spirit, filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.

When you’re yielded to the Spirit and the Word, the Bible says you “…shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil” (Proverbs 1:33). Hallelujah! Develop an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit. Know Him for yourself. Commune with Him constantly in prayer and through meditation on the Word. Remember He’s the Helper, Counsellor, Teacher, Advocate, Comforter, Strengthener and Standby that Jesus said the Father would send to us.

Many of us are familiar with praying to God the Father, and talking to the Lord Jesus Christ all the time. It’s also essential for us to recognize the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, and commune with Him often and about everything. Talk to Him every day. I talk to the Holy Spirit more than I talk to any human person. Practise it.

In the same way you’ve been talking to the Father and the Lord Jesus, consciously talk to the Holy Spirit. Address Him with recognition and reverence. Remember, He’s the conveyor of the presence and blessings of God; He’s the One who manifests God’s presence and His power wherever God wants it.

Consider that this awesome, infinite personality of the Godhead resides within you and desires to communicate with you at all times. Interestingly, although His name is not “Holy Spirit,” He understands that you’re referring to Him or addressing Him because that’s how the Scripture refers to Him. It’s also amazing to realize that every time you talk to the Lord Jesus or pray to the Father, it’s the Holy Spirit who acts in response.

So, while He responds to the Name of Jesus and fulfils the petitions you make of the Father, recognize and commune with Him as the doer of the work! Notice again what 2 Corinthians 13:14 says, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.” Who do we have communion with? The Holy Spirit!

While our legal fellowship is established through the Lord Jesus Christ, we are called to cultivate a vital relationship with the Holy Spirit. Talk to Him often. If you’ve been doing it, keep at it and encourage yourself in it. You’ll be amazed at how transcendent, impactful and excellent your life will be. Through His guidance, you’ll find your life propelled from glory to glory.

Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him (Ephesians 1:16-17).
Just because you’ve been a Christian for a long time doesn’t necessarily mean you’d be effective for God, and in the things of God. It takes more than singing nicely, praising God joyfully, and even preaching, to be effective for Christ and for the Kingdom; you have to know Him in a very personal way.
That’s the reason for Paul’s prayer for the baby church in Ephesus, as read in our opening verse. Paul heard about their love for God; they were excited about the things of God. But he knew they lacked something and prayed that the Lord would grant it to them: “…the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him….”

There’s a certain type of knowledge, a certain type of revelation of God that you ought to have; it’s called “Epignosis” (Greek); knowledge that relates to the known; a knowledge of relationship. This knowledge is different from theology or mere science.

You can appropriate that prayer of the Spirit through Paul for yourself; put your name there and say, “I have the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the accurate knowledge of God.” You’ll experience the unveiling! It’s the work of the Spirit of God.

Without this kind of knowledge, you’ll be a religious Christian, doing things religiously, without having a real relationship with God. When you have that relationship, you no longer see Him as the God of David or the God of Elijah; He becomes your God; He’s personal to you. That’s when you really appreciate and celebrate your union and oneness with Him.
