I got accepted for an oral presentation at a conference to present part of my work. When I was done, a professor was curious about my methodology. She said they have done the same in their lab and didn't work. So, we got talking...
So often we identify Nobel Prize winning Scientists as eccentric geniuses. More like loners who spend their entire life in Labs, chasing an unlikely dream of discovery. We think its normal for them to have dysfunctional relationships.
But, here is a genius couple who have done sone super pioneering work related to Brain & Optogenetics. Yet, they look like a regular family. Loving kids, fun and managing everything together in a regular but awesome way.
So glad that we now have a new image of who could be a Nobel Laureate 😀

Today’s Nobel Prize in Medicine announcement brings me back to a question I asked in Nature last year: When will Africa have a Nobel Prize in medicine? What will it take to give research done in Africa the support and recognition it deserves https://t.co/dkqBy3a3rM

A PhD is hard.
Some days you question your research, your abilities, and your decision to even start.
Those are the days you have to remember your why.
It doesn’t make the journey easy, but sometimes it’s what keeps you going. 💜
I've been tagging influencers to my nephew's heart surgery case.
Almost all behaved as if they didn't see my tags except for @osemagnum who reposted for me, thanks Dr.
But y'all can quote and repost when it comes to bress and yansh.
Happy Teachers’ Day to me. ❤️
Funny enough, outside X, I hardly ever tell people that I’m a teacher.
In fact, in my compound, only my landlord knows I’m a teacher. And even at that, we hardly see or talk. Most of our conversations are just WhatsApp messages about light bills, one bill or the other, and then we disappear again for months. 😂
I don’t go around introducing myself as a teacher, and honestly, it’s not because I’m ashamed of what I do. I think it’s because of how people have made the profession look... like being a teacher automatically means you’re suffering, struggling or doing a “lesser” job.
So I just keep quiet about it.
But X changed that for me.
Somehow, this platform gave me the boldness to talk about my work, share my experiences, show the things my students and I are building, and actually let people see the work that goes into being a teacher.
Most of the things I share here, I don’t even post on WhatsApp. A lot of people who know me personally probably have no idea about the things I do at school. 😂
But here, I’ve found people who celebrate it with me. People who encourage me. People who remind me that this work is actually worth celebrating.
It hasn’t been the easiest journey, but I’m beginning to realise that I genuinely love what I do.
So today, I’m celebrating myself.
For the lessons, the patience, the practicals, the projects, the tired days, the students who come to me just to talk, and for every little way I get to contribute to raising the leaders of tomorrow.
Happy Teachers’ Day to me. ❤️
Maybe I don’t always say it outside here, but I am a teacher, and I’m proud of the impact I’m making. 🥹❤️

I have always been speechless. 😭❤️
She sabi this book thing, no be small.
After her 300Level, I learnt she's still on 5.0cgpa, and I screamed, cos it sounded like sorcery.
Now in 600Level, she's still on 5.0cgpa.

My former barber has been cutting hair for not less than 15 years. He can’t even boast of a two-bedroom apartment. He waited a long while before finally deciding to settle down, only for his first childbearing experience to be twins.
He called to tell me, and I felt enraged.
This man isn’t lazy. He’s very good and efficient at what he does. Fifteen years of working, and he still can’t afford a comfortable roof over his head. We haven’t even started talking about owning a car.
Nigeria is raw. It will chew you up and spit you out, no matter how hard you work or how good you are at what you do.
At some point, we have to stop romanticising resilience in a country that makes survival unnecessarily difficult.
Nothing will change until we decide we’ve had enough.
Congratulations to Karl Deisseroth, winner of the 2026 Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine. The @StanfordMed & @StanfordEng professor of bioengineering and of psychiatry and behavioral sciences is a pioneering developer of optogenetics, a technique that uses light to control the behavior of cells.
I went months without a single booking, doubting if this path was even for me. Today, I’m getting paid for shoots I couldn’t have even pictured in my wildest dreams. If you’re currently in your silent season, keep sharpening your craft. The pivot is real, and the breakthrough is worth every bit of the wait.
