And what IF instead of spending money on the costumes etc, spending it on schools, community building and other things that would actually prevent a society in decline.
Then I put that idea aside because it really wouldn't sell comic books.

Sometimes I think about the fact that Batman, a multi-billionaire, Uses his money to dress up in a costume, goes into the night, beating the crap out of criminals from the lower strata of society, hence creating new enemies, new criminals, new violence filling up the prisons.
