Worship is never neutral—it’s shaping us. Kevin Twit reflects on how the songs we sing form our understanding of the Christian life, and why recovering honest, gospel-rich hymns matters more than we think.

Ben Sasse:
"One of the weird lines @timkellernyc used to say is, 'I hate this, but I would never want to go back to the prayer life I had before pancreatic cancer,' which I thought sounded pretty weird. . .But then I felt, what a blessing that I'm saying, 'Lord, come quickly, Maranatha. Thank you for all of the different things that I used to cling to that right now seem really, really trivial because they're actually really trivial.'"

Ignore Pat but listen carefully to Corrie Ten Boom.
1. She lived under Nazi occupation
2. She testified that the Nazis HATED God and they HATED Christ.
3. She experienced real spiritual darkness & evil under the Nazis
4. What the Nazis did was real. It's not a video game. It wasn't a joke. The history of what the Nazis did hasn't been fabricated. It really happened.
5. She sounds just like some of the older saints in our congregation, who also lived under Nazi occupation. In one case, in one family in our congregation, the father of this family was murdered on the last day of the war because he was part of the Dutch resistance.
6. It is heartbreaking when I see people going down the neo-Nazi rabbit hole. It's so incredibly dangerous, sad, & unnecessary.
“The first Sabbath day was not Adam’s seventh day. It was God’s seventh day, but it was Adam’s first full day. It was as though God was saying to him, 'I want your existence to begin with a time to admire everything I have made, and then you can go on from there and imitate Me.'" – Sinclair Ferguson
With many Iranian friends - and a beloved close family member too - I’m praying for the liberty of the people of Iran this morning, and for the further spread of the gospel and the strengthening of the rapidly growing Church there. I hope you’ll join me in that prayer.
CJ Stroud on if God is blessing the Texans because of their testimony:
“I don’t want it to ever be confused, I don’t think God is like ‘the Texans are gunna win.’, but I think regardless, win or loss he gets the glory, and that’s up to us, that’s just worship. Him giving us our talents, abilities, & these jobs, he’s more than worthy of all the worship is really why we do what we do. It’s not because we want favor from the lord. In my opinion, you don’t just get favor from the lord just because you give him glory, he deserves it. It’s not because we follow Jesus that we win every game.”
I’m just heading home from a full but fun week in the USA 🇺🇸.
I was delighted to meet many friends old and new at events in Palm Beach, Boca Raton & Jacksonville FL.
It was also my first time visiting Birmingham, Alabama too, alongside the wonderful storyteller Martin Shaw at a @tacticalfaith event … and my first experience of eating ‘grits’ 👀
Thanks also to @DPCassidyTKC for the privilege of speaking at the culmination of @src_church church planting summit.
You can see my talk here at 27mins https://t.co/5RqN1QTqDR
A wonderful time but glad to be heading back home to family and familiarity 🇬🇧
For those who follow the Liturgical Calendar, today marks three days after the celebration of Christ’s Ascension—and three days before the Florida Panthers claim victory in Game 1 of their third Stanley Cup Final. Between heaven and hockey, may joy abound.
