@pearse_margie The engagement strategy of displaying it a few days before teaching generates curiosity. I did this often in my classroom. Once kids start to wonder the brain searches for understanding and THEN the learning begins! Love the idea for a math class.
Looking forward to presenting at #WCSS23 in Madtown in March. @WCSS1 always puts together an amazing conference. I'm going with "Teach Wiscosninbly" this year - anyone have super cool ideas to share for making SS local? #sschat@WisHistory#teachlocal
@StrawberryAcaiT Meg…are you a member of your union? If so ask them for help moving forward. If not I would take a few FMLA days to get this sorted out…first emotionally…then professionally. This is not ok…none of it…regardless of the phone rules.
@TeachesMark You know Mark, after 40 yrs of being an 8th grade teacher & with the truths you shared I still loved my job. I got through the most difficult times because of support staff like you. Reconsider being a teacher Mark,if after being an aide you could not say you love your job.
@TeachesMark It is so cool to see you on these chats learning and sharing. I hope you are sharing your ideas with the teachers whose classes you support. I would have loved for you to have shared your ideas with me when you supported my class. Are you sharing with the support team? I hope so!
@Punkintweets Circles work! Everyone is sitting in front!!!
Seriously…IEPs need to say point of instruction…that leaves a lot of options for the teachers that move around a lot…good luck!
#WCSS23 is only 148 days away - and we are back in the capital! @dmimadison Great networking, great PD, great times - join in the fun! @WCSS1#sschat@NCSSNetwork Submit a proposal, register to attend, grab a hotel room, and/or be a vendor. https://t.co/hjoljaYd1t Let's goooooo!
@KellyGToGo I retired after 40 years of teaching and will swear by the growth of my 8th graders as readers and writers when I started AoWs about 8-9 years ago. SWEAR by it!!! Thank you Kelly!!!
@TeachesMark@carbaeli@MrsSpinasClass@schnekser@spedteacheriam @StaffPodcast @PavWander@mrccheney Mark it is difficult to sometimes connect with kids in the classroom, especially as a one on one support aide for special education. However, you might want to reach out to our school social worker who is starting a club for students that you mention in your blog post. Starthere
