South Korea were never supposed to be counting goal differences, checking other results, or praying for favours.

This is a squad packed with Premier League stars, Bundesliga talent, and one of Asia's greatest ever footballers. Yet instead of imposing themselves on the tournament, they've become reactive, predictable, and painfully short of ideas.

When a team with this much quality loses its identity, the questions stop being about the players and start being about the man on the touchline.

Is this simply a bad tournament, or is South Korea repeating the same mistakes that haunted them in 2014?
