I will not be voting for John James in August and neither should you.

Don’t get me wrong. I like John James personally. I am impressed with anyone that can succeed in graduating from a military academy as John did. (He graduated from West Point in 2004, became a Ranger-qualified aviation officer, and achieved the rank of Captain.) (Note: My son Thomas graduated from the Naval Academy in 2007.) I am impressed that he succeeded in flight training. As a retired professional pilot with over 16,000 flight hours, I know what standards he had to meet and exceed in order to do that job. (Yes, Congressman John James (MI-10) is a decorated combat veteran who flew AH-64 Apache helicopters in the U.S. Army.)

That being said, I know that the reason we have effectively lost our representative republic status is that “Big Money” has overtaken our election cycles. That is the reason that the approval of our Congress is at an all-time low.
In the last week, I downloaded all of the FEC campaign donations for John James since Jan. 1, 2017. I, then, asked the A.I. known as perplexity to perform an analysis on those donations looking for possible campaign finance fraud and searching for “financial obligations” based on campaign donations.
The results are very concerning!
The analysis suggested the following:

• Penske Corporation cluster — 8 donors, $58,850: corporate bundling analysis required
• 2020 earmark channel (31,922 records) — full routing disclosure and joint fundraiser audit
• 2020 Election Day spike (2,634 donations) — source identification and platform audit

• RAKOLTA, LAUREN: $37,400 — daughter-in-law of John Rakolta Jr. (Walbridge construction empire, former U.S. Ambassador to UAE). Walbridge also appears as top employer cluster.
• PENSKE CORPORATION: 8 donors, $58,850 — Roger Penske's automotive/transportation empire. #2 overall Michigan GOP donor statewide ($3.9M in 2024 cycle).
• LACKS ENTERPRISES: 21 donors across two entities, $126,850 combined — Grand Rapids auto parts manufacturer, DeVos-network adjacent.
• BLACKSTONE GROUP: 10 donors, $52,600 — world's largest private equity firm, major interest in deregulation, carried interest tax preservation, real estate.
• ULINE / UIHLEIN FAMILY: 4 donors, $42,600 — Liz Uihlein is among the most aggressive antiunion, anti-regulation mega-donors in the U.S.
• KIRKLAND & ELLIS LLP: 10 donors, $35,150 — top law firm for private equity, M&A, and corporate interests. Kirkland represents Blackstone, Apollo, KKR, and most major PE funds.
• AIPAC / PRO-ISRAEL NETWORK: American Israel Public Affairs Committee gave $70,375 to John James for Michigan joint fundraiser (2024). Second largest individual joint fundraiser donor.

What about the November General Election?
As a Christian Conservative, I will vote for the Republican nominee for Governor in November. The two problems that we would face in the event that John James were to win the August primary for Governor are as follows:

1. It is clear that John James is obligated to follow the desires of some extremely powerful persons and institutions. John James does not represent “We The People”.
2. The Democrats would capitalize on John James’ possible history of campaign finance violations and use this against him in the general election.
Note: It is widely believed that this behind the scenes extortion is exactly what was used against Bill Schuette in the 2018 Governors race after he won the Primary. (That is why he basically stopped spending campaign money on his own race)
