Colleagues have been raising awareness and understanding of antimicrobial resistance and what we can all do to slow it down across our hospitals this week.

As a result of drug resistance, antibiotics become ineffective and infections become difficult or impossible to treat.

Key barriers were lack of training and confidence, and healthcare culture.
