Sovereign Shards is a major technological update for all the appChains in the #blockchain industry.

This is a revolution which can be only done on #MultiversX.

And everything was started in 2018 when we first theorised Sharding, implemented first cross shard processing in 2019 and continued in 2020 when the $ESDT token system was born.

On xDay 2023 we announced the first version, alpha release, and demonstrated the power of the sovereign shard architecture and the seamless integration between the main-chain and any custom appchain.

Today, we can say, that an alpha+ release is planned for February, which will contain the followings:
🔹Fully featured sovereign shard binary with configurable genesis, validator set, block time, gasmodel, ESDTs, guardians, systemVM and WASMVM
🔹Setup any ESDT as base token/gas token, and all token transfers will be ESDTs
🔹NO BRIDGE Seamless cross mainchain to sovereign shard transactions, making any sovereign shard as an extension to the current ecosystem.

This is the first solution to create custom appChains which are connected to the mainchain without the need for any bridge, as the processing model used is the one from the cross-shard module, battle tested and validated in the last years. This mean, no wrapping contracts, no lock and mint, burn and mint, simply transfer. Built in complete composability enshrined in the protocol (this is a forgotten primitive in Ethereum L2s).

Thing is there is a delay for sovereign release. It might be weeks, it might be months or next year. We don't really know anything at all about even an approximate release. Maybe they launch it on X day as a main product? Who knows. We are in the same situation as others, waiting for the sovereign. Meanwhile, we build as well layer 1 EVM simply because we want to use this delay by keep building. Layer 1 EVM is open source, relatively easy to deploy a testnet in a month and a mainnet in a quarter or so. Going L1 evm while waiting for the sovereign is a smart choice. When the sovereign is live it goes hand in hand with the L1 EVM as a bridge. We wish good luck for Zpay and eventually this hard period will be over and green candles will start.

USDD is a decentralized dollar token backed by precious metals like Gold and Silver, offering full transparency and decentralization.

You can mint and swap USDD back and forth from GSC (Gold Standard Coin) in our Stable Coin dapp on VestaDex: https://t.co/lBrfucU9hC.

$GSC represents 1 gram of gold on the blockchain, with real-time gold prices sourced from trusted oracles like @UmbNetwork .

This makes USDD directly pegged to the global gold price, generated by the gold itself on the blockchain.

How does it work?

Physical gold can be tokenized with us, receiving GSC on the blockchain.
GSC can be swapped with Ouro, staked to earn more GSC, or used to generate USDD.
Any GSC holder can mint USDD from gold and vice versa.
GSC can be redeemed for physical gold starting Q3 2024.

Why $USDD?

We recognized the need for a fully decentralized currency backed by physical gold and silver. Anyone can tokenize their precious metals to mint USDD.

So far, the company has tokenized a total of 7 kilos of gold, generating the first batch of USDD listed in pools with $Ouro and $Vegld.
