There’s literally a children’s board game whose whole premise is showing how free market capitalism ends with one person owning everything while everyone else goes bankrupt.
Sleeping on a pillow tonight because someone’s chest is way too far away. I’d much rather be curled up beside you, listening to your heartbeat and feeling like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. 🤍
one of the strangest things about the modern job market is seeing “entry-level” positions demand years of previous experience while offering salaries that barely reflect the responsibilities involved. if a company wants someone who already knows how to do the job with minimal training, that sounds a lot more like experienced labor being sold at an entry-level price than an opportunity for someone to actually enter the field.
let someone love you without requiring you to become a more polished version of yourself first. let them see the insecurities, the flaws, the unfinished parts, the days when you don’t feel attractive or accomplished, and let them stay. you don’t have to hide every broken piece because you’re afraid it makes you difficult to love. sometimes the cracks are exactly where the light gets through. being imperfect doesn’t make you unworthy of being loved completely.
she knows her worth now, and that changed everything. she knows what she brings into a relationship, what she will and won’t tolerate, and what kind of life she wants for herself. getting access to her isn’t automatic anymore. she’s protective of her time, her peace, her heart, and the happiness she had to work hard to find. she knows what she’s asking for and she knows what she’s deserving of. so if what you bring doesn’t align with that, she won’t spend years trying to convince you to become the person she needs. she’ll simply leave.
I wonder how many neurodivergent people have experienced that uniquely painful friendship realization where you considered someone your absolute best friend, someone deeply important to you, only to discover that they saw you as… a nice person they happened to know. like you built an entire friendship in your head and heart while they had you filed somewhere between “friend” and “pleasant acquaintance.” that one hurts in a very specific way.
My son came home quiet today and told me some boys at school laughed because I still pack his lunch every morning instead of giving him money to buy food like them.
As a dad, I took that personally. The next morning I packed that boy a lunch so ridiculous it looked like...
I agreed to fake-date a man for one weekend.
It was supposed to make my ex jealous.
Instead, I accidentally met my future husband.
And the worst part?
He wasn't the man I was supposed to be dating...
It actually is that serious. Because I would never think to do that to you. That’s why it hurts so much when someone does something to you that you would never even consider doing to them. You’re not just hurt by what happened. You’re hurt because you realise the same consideration, loyalty and care you naturally gave them wasn’t being given back. It hurts differently when someone crosses a line you would’ve never even thought to cross with them.
Every night before I fall asleep, you’re one of the last things on my mind. I think about how much I miss you and how deeply I love you. It’s become part of my nightly routine, but that doesn’t make the words any less true.
Even when we spend the whole day without seeing or talking to each other, somehow, you still find your way into my thoughts. Whether my mind is exhausted or completely occupied, there’s always a little part of me thinking about you.
There’s something incredibly comforting about ending my day knowing that I’m loved by you. I just hope that somehow, even from far away, you can feel how much you mean to me.
