Desmond Bosomtwe has been convicted for assaulting nurse Priscilla Addo at the Tema Community 22 Polyclinic. The court, taking into account that he is a first-time offender and considering his plea in mitigation, sentenced him to a fine of 100 penalty units or, in default, 12 months’ imprisonment. He was also ordered to enter into a 12-month bond of good behaviour or serve an additional six months in prison in default. Additionally, he has been barred from visiting any patient at the facility for the next 12 months. The court further awarded GH¢5,000 compensation to the complainant, Priscilla Addo, which the accused has been ordered to pay.
