Community banks have been transforming deposits into economic growth for generations.
Every dollar deposited in a community bank helps fund small businesses, homeownership, equipment purchases, job creation, and investment throughout the community.
Everyone is focused on how stablecoins could change payments. I’m more interested in how they could change lending.
A stablecoin can move a dollar. A community bank can multiply its impact.
As the stablecoin debate continues, here’s the question I keep coming back to:
If deposits leave community banks, who replaces the lending?

@DLtribSports @lakerbooster@LakerVolley Jared is 100% correct. Definitely one of the best sporting events I have ever seen as well. Ironically it was equaled earlier this year by a double OT girls playoff basketball game between the same two schools. Fortunately, the results in both were Laker wins.
Adam's maturity, willingness to do what his team needed, and daily approach are traits that will continue to serve him well as he achieves great things beyond his time in a Cobber uniform. Thank you @adamdaggett4 for all that you gave to Cobber Basketball! #CobberWay
The Cobber men's basketball team honored their seniors at halftime of today's intrasquad scrimmage. Thanks & 👏👏👏 to Adam Daggett, Jackson Johnsrud, Jacob Fredrickson, Ty Setness & Colden "Big C" Hutton for everything they have done for the program (1/2).
For months, Minnesota’s banks have been helping customers affected by COVID-19, and they will continue to do so. If you are having trouble making your mortgage payment, contact your lender now. There are good options available to get some relief.
Exactly right. The CARES Act specifically covered re-hiring, which is really important to businesses forced to close because of stay-at-home orders. Treasury and SBA: make sure the PPP works for the businesses that closed to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
Great work and long hours from our amazing staff this weekend! 142 SBA PPP loans approved totaling $22.5 million (and climbing). Helping those affected by COVID-19 @MinnBankers@SBAgov
Please, please, please, Congress ‘Open Your Eyes’ to the risk and abuse of the taxpayer-dependent credit unions which admit they can’t survive without the $Billions of taxpayer subsidy.
We noticed your strong support for the CRA, @TinaSmithMN. Banks serve the credit needs of their entire communities. It's time the massive credit unions comply with CRA, too. Are they serving "people of modest means," as their charter requires? Not so much.
