A Chronomaster without a chronograph? Zenith has just introduced the new Chronomaster Solo Sport by taking one of its most chronograph-focused collections in an entirely different direction.

The Solo Sport trades the familiar tricompax layout for a three-hand configuration while retaining the high-frequency precision at the heart of the El Primero story. Its 5 Hz El Primero 3620 delivers a 60-hour power reserve, and the 40mm case backs up the sportier direction with a unidirectional ceramic bezel, screw-down crown, crown guards, and 200 meters of water resistance.

The collection consists of four references, with the two pictured here offering distinctly different takes on the design. One pairs a sunray-finished white ceramic dial with a black ceramic bezel, while the other combines a polished brown ceramic dial with a matching brown ceramic bezel. Both feature a date at 3 o’clock and introduce Zenith’s new “45° Z” dial pattern, a repeated motif designed to visually reference the high-frequency movement beating underneath.

Each comes on a three-link stainless steel bracelet fitted with Zenith’s ZENCLASP, which offers tool-free microadjustment in 2.5mm increments across a total 10mm range. The overall result feels like an elevated everyday option for someone who finds the DEFY Skyline a little too visually complex but still wants the mechanical appeal of a high-beat El Primero.
