@CasadePace @mccrabb_will True! I try to think of everything I see in a (well made) movie as being necessary to the story in the filmmakers' eyes, from set decoration to these little scenes. Because in the end, this scene is what Jaws is about (emotionally). Without it, it's just a monster movie.
