Little E2V1 Update

Also a quick heads for some of the testers who are getting stuck when trying to spawn a Character. We identified an issue where if you are using a GIF image for your Earth 2 profile photo it will cause problems when spawning a Character - gotta love software development!

There is a fix for this issue coming in the next update, but for now, if you change your Earth 2 profile photo to a standard JPG or PNG image then you should no longer get stuck when spawning Characters.

This is almost certainly the case with TechOps, who has a GIF profile image, but other Players with GIF profiles will also likely be experiencing the same issue without realising it's their GIF profile causing it. So I just wanted to get this info out early.

We are also making further improvements to the location system, specifically in multiplayer mode. It has only taken an extra 1 week so far but worth mentioning as it is the main reason for the delay.

When it is ready I believe we will be releasing as 0.1.4.1.

The update should include:

🌏further improvements to the location system and multiplayer - this should fix random Mentars and Characters sometimes appearing in the sky

🌍further improvements for multiplayer Character syncing over long distances

🌎an improvement to the location system which should reduce yeeting

🌏a fix for Mentar spawning that should improve the ability to spawn a Mentar - something we release that some testers were having issues with.

If you are experiencing the Mentar spawn issue, please wait for the next update before trying again, otherwise you're just retesting a bug we have not released a fix for yet.

QA testing for all of the above are looking good, but as always, nothing is ever certain with software development, so after we release the new #E2V1 version we will monitor & make further fixes or improvements if issues still persist.

This is all part of the Pre-Alpha testing process, for any project, not just ours. It helps us identify issues, resolve them & make improvements for better long term stability of the platform.

Heads up that #E2V1 v0.1.3.3 has just been released for closed #PreAlpha testers 🌍✌️

This update involves a some fixes & updates made by the team over the past 24-48 hours which will be officially listed in the #RealityThread4 when it's released.

But the main reason for this release is to unlock the glider to testers before it is officially released with crafting. Testers can activate the glider using the F hotkey for now, but when crafting is released it will be an item available in inventory after you craft it.

Just a note, if you are on version v0.1.3.2 & come across another #Player floating through the sky (who already updated to v0.1.3.3) then you know why 🪂

E2V1 has arrived! What��s that mean? The first E2 players are now able to say this behemoth of a project exists! Only 100 testers have access to the first ever digital version of our entire Earth right now, but WOW, the footage we are seeing is jaw-dropping.

Own a piece of land on this amazing planet. Pick anywhere in your dreams! Go scout it out. Buy your plots! Are you planning to build? Mine resources? Or maybe you plan to RAID the neighbor properties! The path you choose could prove to be lucrative or lackluster. This game will prove to be an ever-evolving ecosim with a phenomenal MMO based on our actual planet in its serene form.

I bought my land, and I’m ready for this digital earth to land itself on my computer very soon once testers are expanded upon! For now, I’ll be limited to the E2 web client.

Positives: The scale, magnitude, and accuracy of this project is near unfathomable. Graphics appear amazing! Numerous outlooks for players into the future!

Negatives: LONG Timeline. Gotta be patient with this behemoth. Communication seems to be intermittent from the dev team. New players struggle to get excited currently.

Disclaimer: I have been in E2 for 3+ years and remain as bullish as ever with the project. (I was not this bullish to begin, whatsoever.)
