It's not enough to write down your goals. You also need to write down the type of person you need to be to achieve those goals and then work towards being that person. You don't just drop into the life you want. You create it.
I never truly understood what someone meant when they said "We're all part of a system."
But I do now.
Systems are a way of organizing the world we live in. They're made up of a set of tasks that produce a result.
People are assigned tasks from the minute they're born.
You're born in a hospital and subjected to a set of tasks and rules, not decided by you or your parents, but by larger organizations.
You get a little bit older and are sent to school, subject to a new system, new tasks, and new rules.
You get older, graduate, find a job -- where you're placed into a new system. You follow a set of tasks, every day, for the rest of your life.
Your life essentially becomes controlled by one system.
There's a reason why so many people can never make decisions for themselves, never take a risk, never create their own system or their own rules -- because they don't know how.
Creating a system requires a lot of thinking about how to get from point A to point B. And a lot of people effectively do not have this skill. They never needed it because the government and other entities made systems for them all their life.
They held their hand as they walked them through every major decision in their life.
That's why so many people struggle with even a small amount of freedom.
And that's why entrepreneurship, homeschooling, homebirths, diet and lifestyle changes and any other thing that has "no rules" and "no control" scares people.
It scares them because the system is novel for any person that engages in it. There are no rules, except the ones the person decides on themselves.
People can't fathom that a system can be created by them, for them.
We live in a society where people are so afraid of decisions and choices, that they give up their right to make them and don't even realize it.
If you want true freedom, learn to create your own systems.
Take back your ability to think, to create pathways, to make decisions and choices.
Being an NPC is just being unable to make your own systems.
