28% of the GTA VI team is in India, with Rockstar Games Bengaluru office being the largest in the world.

GTA VI launches November 19. There are many rumors, leaks, and big numbers floating around.

I reviewed trusted sources to highlight key facts. I checked Take-Two Interactive filings, Bloomberg reports, analyst forecasts, and Rockstar employees on LinkedIn.

Some of the best-loved indie games were made in Europe: Mount & Blade, Cities: Skylines, Rust, Blasphemous… the list goes on.

I've always been curious about which countries produce Europe's indie games and how many people work at the studios and publishers behind them.

So I counted about 14,000 indie studios and publishers with LinkedIn company pages across 41 countries and matched them to the 9,000 most popular games on Steam.

Two countries surprised me:

→ Türkiye has about 1,350 indie studios. Wow! For example, Germany has about 1,100.
→ Cyprus has only 130, but about 2,000 people work at them. It’s more people than in studios and publishers in Denmark, Finland, Ukraine, or Italy.
