An absolutely brilliant piece on Substack -- if you love movies and are planning on making them anytime in the near future, this is a MUST-read. So correct. Nice work @RoyPrice
@notcee_fan Taxi Driver. Saw it in the theater when it first came out. When that guy gets his fingers shot off in the dirty hallway of that foul apartment, I screamed, and my mom grabbed me by the collar and dragged me out, yelling at my Dad, "Oh, good movie to traumatize our kid by, honey!"
@jontechilovsky@mrcarl_woodward The rules of live theater will always be different, Jon. Not accepting those rules will get you called out. Doesn't matter if you like it or not, and what you "should" be able to do. Go to live theater, don't be on your phone.
@GoIntoTheStory Yes, and sometimes we need to add more to give the emotional texture we're seeing. We're so trained to LESS IS MORE, and the economy focus, and yet sometimes more works for pivotal moments.
@atmoio He's not saying that if you read the entire interview/article. He's saying AI has no soul, so its opinion in the creative process is mute. This is not about code or CGI or any of that. Art has soul. AI has no soul, so it's a tool, but it's not an artist/art since it's not human.
@DiscussingFilm He's not talking about the use of CGI. He's talking about the soulless nature of AI. Which is a fact. If you read the entire article, you'll see that.
@TheCriticalDri2 I'm gay. Very gay. So gay it's not even funny. I'm gay gay gay. So yes. While I admit she has great boobs, baby, I don't care. I'm all about the directing, and it's fantastic.
@acdmma_ Dana. Question. Talk to this fact: "In the United States, the suicide rate for men is roughly 4 times higher than the rate for women." Oh, how men use violent means, such as guns, to kill themselves. This is from the National Institute of Health. Keep it private. Good call.
@consequence If Linda had done her research and listened to Madonna's podcast with Jay Shetty, she'd know why Madonna will never, ever respond to something like this.
