Teddy Roosevelt signs the Food and Drugs Act into law(creating the FDA)after reading Upton Sinclair’s socialist manifesto ‘The Jungle’ and misunderstanding the original message.
As Sinclair described; "I aimed at the public's heart and by accident hit its stomach."(1906)
I have spent the past few days researching the training of Uvalde officers, including the tactics they were expected to use to halt school shooters.
The documents are jarring. Here’s a thread of our findings so far.

We teamed up with this sign guy (@thetomnix) to create some shirts, and we're donating the proceeds to support women's reproductive health services in Texas, where they're under threat. Get yours: https://t.co/CN8aHnKOaE
@RideBluebikes I see that the Knoll Street at Centre Street station in Roslindale has been installed but isn't turned on yet. Any idea when it might be active?
@Mortdog Also want to echo what others have said, that interacting with units on board could use some consistency improvements, especially when models overlap. A zoom feature, similar to the mouse wheel scroll on desktop, might help make it easier to select models on small screens?
@Mortdog Understanding that Little Legends are necessary for carousel, using them to interact with gold/items on my board is cumbersome. Not sure if directly interacting with those elements on mobile is feasible but it would help make up for the overall loss in agility compared to desktop
This is a vital message. We still need vaccinated people to mask, which will be a challenge. They’ll be protected from illness and can feel safe going out, but we don’t yet know whether vax stops asymptomatic infection and spread. When will we know & how? https://t.co/t0hKx7DON9
Slaoui, speaking to @jaketapper, lays out an aggressive vaccination timeline
If he's right, we'll see virus spread starting to slow from growing population immunity by end of January into February
And much better by March
How?
