Never really needed the classroom or guidance to understand business. If you understand people, you can understand business. You can’t learn the “Hustle” in a classroom, just through life experiences, successes and most importantly, failures.
Steelers’ defense this year:
Most FFs
3rd in INTs
Top-10 Run Def
Not capitalizing on turnovers kills teams in the NFL. It’s a coaching and personnel problem.
Fire tomlin, get 2-3 new WRs, a RB who can average more than 4.0YPC, and start Fields. Time to create a new identity.
I don’t care who your team is.. It is always satisfying to see a player leave a bad team and start balling out for a contender.
Like imagine you leave Daniel Jones and the Giants and wind up having the best year of your career with the 8-2 Eagles lol.
Levis and Flacco are worse than Bryce Young?
Russ had more TDs, less INTs, and a higher rating than Geno?
How is Deshaun Watson even on the list? Much less the top 25..
Disrespectful to do Stroud like that too.
Jaguars and Trevor Lawrence reached agreement on a five-year, $275 million extension, including $200 million guaranteed - $142 million at signing, per source.
I think with the Steelers and Art Smith, we don’t NEED a top WR via trade
We have 2 RBs who are good pass catchers, Muth is a good TE, and we have Pickens + Roman Wilson at WR
If anything, I could see us using more double TE sets this year & signing a vet at WR2 like Tyler Boyd
We won 10 games last year with several key defensive players hurt, Pickett at QB, a rough O line, and Matt Canada at OC
With a ton of Cap, we have room to solve the WR/DB needs before the season
Revamped OL✅
Defensive depth✅
New QB✅
Add a vet WR + DB and we are ready
Pittsburgh Steelers 2024 Draft Picks:
#20 - OL Troy Fautanu
#51 - C Zach Frazier
#84 - WR Roman Wilson
#98 - LB Payton Wilson
#119 - OL Mason McCormick
#178 - DT Logan Lee
#195 - DB Ryan Watts
If we can’t pull off a WR trade, this is what we trot out week 1
Steelers 2024 offense:
LT Broderick Jones
LG Isaac Seumalo
C Frazier
RG James Daniels
RT Troy Fautanu
WR1 Pickens
WR2 Tyler Boyd
Slot Wilson
TE Muth
RB Najee/Warren
QB Russ/Fields
10x better than last year.
After draft/UDFA signings so far, just one WR - Roman Wilson.
Aiyuk/Deebo/Sutton/Higgins are trade candidates
Vet FAs available Boyd/Michael Thomas/OBJ
Best case is a trade for a stud at WR - we have the cap space to do it.
Worst case is sign Boyd, and go WR 1st/2nd in 2025.
Fautanu OT - A
Frazier C - A
Roman Wilson WR - B
Payton Wilson LB - B+
Mason McCormick OG - C-
Logan Lee DT - C
Ryan Watts CB - C-
The McCormick pick threw it all off for me. I think we still needed another WR, and a better/earlier DB pick would’ve been nice.
I’d say B+
To be honest day 3 wasn’t all that
Way better options were available in 4-6th
Did we really need a backup Guard?
Could’ve had:
Means/Thrash/Rice at 119
or
Hart/Abrams-Draine/Brownlee at 119
Could’ve had Wingo/Dj James at 178
Whatever at 198
I don’t get the last 3 picks
With pick 178, I think DT was a waste.
Had better DBs, WRs available at their position than Logan Lee.
There was top 100/125 talent that we passed over for a depth piece at DT
Steelers have had a great draft
Early emphasis on fixing OL
Fautanu is a great pick who can start at T
Frazier fills the void at Center nicely
Wilson is fast, good hands and can block. He will do well in this offense
Payton Wilson is a STEAL if he remains healthy
DB in 4th?
