Ever since I can remember, I longed for a richly imagined high fantasy book starring a Black boy main character. This project was truly a labor of love that took years to write and research, but I’d do it all again.
Artwork by the incredibly talented @MikeKatar
@baalbuddy Honestly, thinking about my process, the only way to make 2 pages each day would be to reduce backgrounds to a minimum, don't use complicated design for characters and probably skip the pencils for a lot of stuff
@KalaSketch I use a Huion Kamvas 16 pro (with 2.5k resolution). I always highly recommend their products. I had a Cintiq 16 before and it's WAY better for basically the same price. I would suggest to get the model with the highest pixel density you can afford 🙂
@SteveSketches1@RomallSmith@ebenverse errrr ^^" Artists these days do both pencils and inks, getting a separate inker is quite rare. Mostly because the vast majority use digital. So 400-450 would be a very good rate for pencils + inks + color 😂
@SteveSketches1@RomallSmith@ebenverse If that seems low, maybe it is for an illustrator, but you have to consider that a comic book page is a different medium. You usually don't put as much detail as in a painting, a page shouldn't take more than 1 day to make, 2 for very complex ones.
@SteveSketches1@RomallSmith@ebenverse Marvel used to pay around 300 for a starter artist, I think the rate is a bit lower now. That doesn't include colors. Colorist are paid around 1/3 an artist's rate, so a full color page would be 420-450. But that's Marvel ^^" Many smaller publishers pay way less
Dear @midjourney
You’re killing me.
Your model has been using my work+name for over 10k times, and that’s just the public forums. Can you remove my work and block my name from your generator? I’m sure you understand how deeply unethical this situation is.
please rt
@yenni_vu@ParkaBlogs@HuionTab Probably because of taxes =(
Kinda of a pity they couldn't keep the price a bit lower on the 16. The Wacom equivalent, the Mobile studio pro costs almost twice that, but at that price range you're competing with the ipad pro and... yikes!
@ZeronisART@MaliciousFowl Dunno about the followes, but the reach problem is because they're trying to push video content instead of still images. If you want to grow and be seen you got to make reels now. Sucks, I know =(
