@BeLoudWearRed@JomboyMedia Disagree about your run down example: in general most run downs include a fielder holding the ball out with threat of the tag, even if they aren’t particularly close to the runner. That’s why the base path is defined. It constrains the runner in that path. That didn’t happen here
@BeLoudWearRed@JomboyMedia The umpire clearly did not think the fielder fielding the ball odd a tag attempt and only does so when he reaches (weakly) for the tag. At that point, the runner had already created the new “path”.
@DestinyBulletn They don't need to sing its praises, but they need to also stop the hate campaign against it - ESPECIALLY IF THEY DON'T PLAY IT.
I've had far too many conversations with people who won't even give the game a shot because they are influenced by every ounce of the community bs.
@DestinyBulletn This is by no means, over.
Marathon can absolutely exist even with it's "smaller target audience" and expand. It does likely need to be more successful than it's been, but the game is actually pretty good.
It can improve. But the community needs to stop using it as a martyr.
@BeLoudWearRed@JomboyMedia In situations like that, there is no straight line from 1st to 2nd. It's extremely wide (runner dependent).
Too many casual fans don't realize that this example is generally wider than what we saw in this incident, but no umpire would ever call a runner out of the path.
@BeLoudWearRed@JomboyMedia To add to this - I think everyone has this flat view of a "path" between bases, but the reality is that isn't the case.
If a batter hits a triple, they are taught to curve their path around and through second base such that they can get from 2nd to 3rd as quickly as possible.
Love all the Destiny love happening on it's final release day. But I just gotta say...
Everyone has been hating on the "omg more steam charts, blah blah"
And now with this new update, it's all anyone is posting.
You understand why they get posted, now? lol
I don't care that you have 30 years of experience. Our shared experiences over the last 17 are likely the same and cover different eras.
Broadcasting to our group that you have an additional 13 years of experience just makes you an asshole. Not a collaborator.
I work in a field now where IT comms with other IT regularly. I'm one of those.
A quick way to piss me off is to tell me how much experience you have when I'm asking the simple stuff.
If you care to tell me how much experience you have, you know how important that shit is.
People often want to solve life's issue by identifying the black and white and categorizing it thusly.
But there is no way to make life *frictionless*. And you cannot always split the gray into equal parts black and white.
In Physics, I heard a common refrain when solving problems.
"Block A is sliding along a *frictionless surface*..."
It being "frictionless" is to aid your ability to solve an issue with fundamental premise.
Sadly, the world is not this.
