@WilliamOwen Actually have conversations like you and your dad are. Never dehumanize those whom you philosophically disagree with on policy issues. Seek to understand different points of view. Actively listen.
Thank you @coachjack212 for your leadership and your team's ability to rise above this disgraceful behavior. Kudos to @maverickprez for his action and @gjsportswriter for shedding light on this. https://t.co/sFwxL8cWrV via @DailySentinelGJ

9:20am. Grand Junction, CO. Regardless of your status, HIV affects us all. I’m proud of the team at Colorado Health Network, working to end the epidemic. I’m inspired by those we’ve lost and those living thanks to treatment. #ADayWithHIV
Fifteen years ago today, a doctor told me that I had HIV. I was very sick. My CD4 (T-cell) count was dangerously low. Any lower would be considered AIDS.
But I'm still here. And the virus that once threatened my life is now undetectable.
Be grateful. Every single day.
@wwoodyCO I had a pre-planned trip to NYC for early October 2001. They had just reopened lower Manhattan when we arrived. Like you, the scent and scenes are etched in my mind.
@sethodell If fear wasn't a factor, I'd be doing precisely what I am — leaping from a senior management role in higher ed marketing/comms a week ago to serve a community-based non-profit focused on those affected by #HIV and other health conditions. https://t.co/jVya5vLWhn
I believe I have been called to serve Colorado and give back to others in a new way — one that still enables me to contribute to something larger than myself. It’s time for me to pay it forward. (5/5)
CAREER UPDATE: Recently, I’ve contemplated two questions: the 1st, posed to alumni of the @LiveCiviCO Governor’s Fellowship Program: “what will you do to serve Colorado moving forward?” The 2nd: “what is my duty to give back to others?” (1/5)
I will leap out of my #highered comfort zone and join the leadership team at Colorado Health Network as their regional director on Aug 30. This decision was difficult, but I’m heartened by the hope I can impact Colorado and a community that has given so much to me this way. (4/5)
