@ashtonforbes I have to admit that I don’t understand, I’m not a scientist or physicist but surely if you don’t understand something as a scientist then you should surely question why or how or if such a thing is possible.

Governments wouldn’t have to worry about the markets if they didn’t borrow money from them. But they do. In ever increasing amounts, including Starmer-Reeves after yesterday’s Budget, which adds £140 billion to an already high level of borrowing. Which puts them even more at the mercy of the markets — and will take debt service costs to over £100 billion, more than schools, social housing or defence.
If you want to sideline the markets raise the revenue through taxation to finance all your spending plans. Otherwise stop bleating about the markets.
