"And if I can go that distance, you see, and that bell rings and I'm still standin', I'm gonna know for the first time in my life, see, that I weren't just another bum from the neighborhood."

The #Eagles would be unbeaten this season if they had hired Mike McDaniel instead of Sean Mannion. My column:

[Rich Cohen @richcohen2003]

“In the Babe’s day, a ball might stay in play until it was lost in the stands. By the late innings, it might be as brown as the infield dirt. And no lights, which meant a hitter was trying to pick a dirty ball out of the dusk—the gloaming.“ @AirMailWeekly

Newts alumni Cavan Sullivan is youngest to ever score for the USMNT.

[Jeff McLane @Jeff_McLane]

Lane Johnson missed the early portion of training camp for personal reasons. The #Eagles RT later referenced his aging parents when he returned and was asked why he missed several practices.

He also announced that this was likely to be his last season.

Thank you for the reminder. Having covered the 2005 #Eagles, I had blocked out that information due to post-traumatic stress.

[Mike Garafolo @MikeGarafolo]

Kaliakmanis is now the first Rutgers QB to throw a pass in an NFL game since 2005, per the broadcast. That would be Mike McMahon for the #Eagles.

They should take Austin Wells’ hit away because of that awful base-running.
