Pep Guardiola at the heart of Manchester City. Surrounded by players and staff. If this is the farewell season for Guardiola, he’s going out with trophies, first the League Cup, now the FA Cup, even if the title is very unlikely. 20 major trophies in 10 years.
Yes, he’s had huge resources. He’s been able to strengthen mid-season with such ready-made stars as Semenyo and Guehi. He’s had huge power. Yes, City still have the 115 verdict to come (some year) and they vigorously deny all charges. But Guardiola has changed the way we look at football. Full-backs inverting into midfield, central overloads etc.
And he’s so much more than possession, possession, possession. He’s played with pace, and not many English teams play with two flying wingers, Doku and Semenyo. He’s given youth a chance, and England will benefit from O’Reilly this summer. Hope Guardiola stays but if he does leave City, Maresca stands by. Huge boots to fill. English football will be the poorer without Guardiola. #CHEMCI

🎙️ Thierry Henry on PSG vs Bayern:
“Rest in peace to anyone who missed this game. This is football at its absolute peak. Pure cinema. End to end, no breaks, no breathing space… you blink and you miss something.
You watch Nuno Mendes, who’s been locking up wingers all season, suddenly struggling with Michael Olise… that boy is special.
On the other side, Luis Diaz just doesn’t stop running… I don’t think Hakimi caught his breath once. Then Kvara… everything he touches looks dangerous.
Dembele playing free, doing whatever he wants… it’s ridiculous. And in the middle, Vitinha controlling everything like it’s his own playground.
This game had everything. Honestly… this should’ve been the Champions League final. Because right now, these are the most exciting teams in Europe.”
“Russia has no say in the formation or enforcement of security guarantees for Ukraine.… Whether Russia agrees or not is irrelevant.”
- Alexander Stubb

I love it -- JD Vance comes to a foreign country to openly campaign for a candidate ahead of an election, and then accuses other countries of interfering in those very elections.
The White House wonders why Europe won’t rally behind America in Iran. Maybe start by asking why your Vice President is flying to Budapest to have a warm chat with Viktor Orban, the man running a Russian influence operation from inside NATO’s borders.
While Europe has been bleeding money and weapons to stop Russian aggression, Hungary has been blocking NATO decisions, sheltering Russian intelligence, and doing Moscow’s diplomatic dirty work at every turn. Orban isn’t America’s friend. He’s Putin’s man in Brussels.
And JD Vance calls him a “good friend.”
Europe is supposed to line up behind a war that had no plan for day two, no strategy for the Strait of Hormuz, and no consultation with allies beyond Israel. A war that has already sent oil past $100 a barrel and left one of America’s most powerful warships reportedly retreating toward the Indian Ocean.
You don’t get to lecture Europe about loyalty while embracing the man working to destroy the alliance from within, and then demand backup for a war you started without asking anyone.
