Our coordinator @MilaSell reflects on how innovation and impact are taking shape in HealthyFoodAfrica. For example, by broadening the scope of school gardens, they could have a greater impact in local communities as hubs for #nutrition education. https://t.co/es05AAinuD #H2020
Welcome to contribute to our special edition “Food Systems Innovation in Africa”, which is now officially open for submissions! Looking forward to reading about your interesting innovations, results and ideas!

@EklundTiina@LukeFinland@AnneTolvanen Pienemmille alueillekin tuotetaan jatkuvasti tarkentuvia päästö- ja nielulaskelmia. Myös Kaupungit ovat tosi kiinnostavia! Niistä keskustellaan lisää kompensaatiowebinaarissa 22.9: https://t.co/wfO1iJdGIT
@EklundTiina@LukeFinland@AnneTolvanen Luke tekee vuosittain kasvihuonekaasulaskennan maankäyttösektorille (metsät, pallot, maankäytön muutokset) sekä maataloudelle (eläinten, lannoitteiden jne päästöt) ja Tilastokeskus koostaa kaikkien sektoreiden päästöt. Koko Suomelle siis tulokset raportoidaan vuosittain.
Pieni korjaus viimeiseen lauseeseen - jalostus on toki hyvä asia jolla voidaan pienentää esim. ilmastovaikutusta. Sen sijaan, itse tehotuotannon eettisyyttä voidaan kyseenalaistaa...
Yle kysyy miksi Afrikka on riippuvainen ruoan tuonnista vaikka potentiaalia omavaraisuuteen on. Yksinkertaisia tai helppoja vastauksia ei ole... #ruokaturva#afrikka#pienviljely https://t.co/qROufO3G4u
#KompensaatiollaHiilineutraaliksi? -webinaarien ilmoittautuminen on avautunut! Tule kuulolle ja keskustelemaan #ilmasto'päästöjen kompensoinnista. Onko se luotettavaa vai viherpesua? Millaista sen pitäisi parhaimmillaan olla? https://t.co/z3WKMrq93O @AnneTolvanen@MilaSell
Finally! After two years the @HealthyFoodAfr ica consortium is meeting live in Lusaka. We hope this leads to a leap forward in our collaboration on food systems research.
Updated blog from our partners in Rwamwanya, whom I had the pleasure of visiting a couple weeks ago. The message was clear - farmers appreciate the training and information they are receiving, but there is need for better storage, processing and marketing opportunities.
HealthyFoodAfrica's Food Systems Labs are featured in the second round of blog posts: FSL LIVE series vol 2! FSL Rwamwanja's typical day is all about maize 🌽: weeding, harvesting, drying, storing - and training. #H2020#FoodSystems@KRCUganda https://t.co/JOHaoU3oXT
Even challenged by Covid 19, our @HealthyFoodAfr partners in Tamale are doing excellent work! Youth Ambassadors are being trained, who will work with different actors in the community to promote healthy, nutritious food and farming (and understanding the link between the two)
Böna Factory - one of our partners in @HealthyFoodAfr - is doing innovative and interesting work! Looking forward to tasting! Using Finnish nutritional knowledge and amazing Kenyan ingredients to create plant-based protein rich products - Kenia https://t.co/RBLFYVfBRP
Oikeasti - metsänhoitoa Suomen saaristossa vuonna 2021!! Entäs ilmastotavoitteet? Entäs biodiversiteetti? Entäs virkistysarvo? MITEN tämä voi olla laillista?
