i sent a man a photo of me and he replied with “😋”
i sent the same photo to another man and he proceeded to send me a voicenote detailing every. single. little. detail. that he loved about the photo, from my tattoos, to the painting behind me.
have fun, girls.
Tolerating always turns to resentment. At first, you call it patience, then love. But what it really is, is self-abandonment. Every time you swallow a boundary, excuse a pattern, or silence your discomfort, something inside you keeps score. And eventually, the bill comes due.
my mom once told me “accountability will always feel like an attack when you are not ready to acknowledge how your behavior harms others” and that shit is real.
Sadly this can be true even in a relationship. On TikTok a girl posted a video of herself surprising her boyfriend on New Year's Eve, and obvious to everyone else (but not to her) when he saw her he wasn't delighted -- he turned red, he scanned the room, he even pushed her away. His reaction was so bad that some creators even theorized that she was a stalker. She wasn't; they were engaged a month ago.
