We did it. Washington and the Continental Army ended the war. The Treaty of Paris was just signed and we are completely free as the United States of America. I can't wait to be able to finally have the best life my family and me can hope for.

I really hope we're not making the wrong decision here. So far Washington and his army are holding their own way better than I thought they would. I just hope this all doesn't go downhill.

Just a few days ago, some delegates met and Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. We are officially free from the tyranny of the king. Maybe things will start work out for the best.

So, thanks to some radical Patriots, my family and I have to worry about being killed by the redcoats or having our homes destroyed. Why can't we just work this stuff out rationally rather than resulting to violence? At least we did try multiple times to consult the king though.

How is a group of untrained farmers, blacksmiths, and just regular colonists going to resist the redcoats? Washington has quite the task in front of him, so hopefully he's a good leader. We'll see how it goes, but this could get ugly.

The Second Continental Congress just convened in Independence Hall last week. The delegates raised the Continental Army, appointed George Washington as commander-in-chief, along with a few other legalities. This is really happening.

Some of these colonists in the North have gone way too far. The fact that there are British citizens that would go to as far as to fight and kill their own people. I get that the king is wrong for what he's doing, but how can you even justify starting war?

Just what I thought would happen. War has officially started between the colonies and Britain. There were some battles at Lexington and Concord, and, surprisingly, the colonial militia pushed the British back. How have we gotten to this point?

We decided to get a new dog now that our farm is expanding. The kids were also asking for another one. He's a 2 year old Cordoba named Juno, and he's great with the kids and with the cattle.

Yesterday, some delegates from each of the colonies met in Philadelphia. They called it the First Continental Congress. Apparently it was an attempt to unify the colonies against the king's acts, and they wrote that the colonists have the same rights as other Englishman.

Business was great this week. I got some deals with a couple local breweries to sell their teas at my shop, and now people can boycott the British tea, and I still get to make a living. Stop by and grab some of your own for a great price. I'll be in town again in a few days.

The king took things way too far. I get that the Boston Tea Party was wrong, but he's treating the Massachusetts colony like enemies. He basically stripped away self-government, closed the busiest port in the New World, and is giving his soldiers benefits at our expense. What??

We had a great time at the Savannah fair over the weekend. They had some great music and corn husking competitions, along with some of the best apple pie I've ever tasted. Looking forward to it again next year!

I saw something in the paper about a group of colonists dumping British tea into the Boston harbor. Dressed as Indians too? Honestly, Britain had it coming after everything they've been doing. Still crazy though.

Does anyone know some local places where I can get some locally made tea? I'm hopping on board with the boycott on British tea. I can't believe the king thinks we'll just keep dealing with his insane taxes, especially while we don't have any representation in Parliament.

Just heard that the colonists are deciding to boycott tea. I really hope everyone follows through with this or this could be detrimental for me and my family.

How am I supposed to make a living with the new Tea Act? The king is basically giving the East India Company a free and easy way to undercut me and other merchants. Why would anyone buy my tea now if they can get imported British tea way cheaper?

I don't know what to make of what's been happening lately. I don't understand why the king would treat his own colonies the way he's been treating us, but I also don't understand why other colonists are treating their king the way they're treating him and acting towards him.

This is what I was afraid of. Some colonists in Boston started a protest that turned into an angry riot. I guess there was a group of redcoats in the street, and they ended up firing on them. We've got five dead and six wounded. How'd we get to this?

The Stamp Act wasn't enough apparently. Now we've got the Townshend Acts taxing us on glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea. People don't want to pay the tax on British imports, and I'm losing money on it. Why should I pay for the king's wars he starts?
