After a rapid rally in the semiconductor sector, prices have now broken below the 5-day moving average, indicating a short-term loss of momentum as some profit-taking begins to emerge.
Although this tech pullback has come somewhat later, it is a normal part of market fluctuations. No asset goes up in a straight line without corrections. Even in strong trending markets, price action typically follows a structure of wave one up, wave two pullback, and wave three extension.
A healthy correction helps release excess risk and creates room for a more sustainable move higher in the future.
