CLASS OF 2022 ELIGIBILITY BOARD. SEPT. 7 Here is the current state-by-state board after the Aug. 21 stay of the nationwide Wisne injunction. ACTIVE PROTECTION • Kentucky. Wells/Edwards group. Expanded TRO remains in force. NCAA emergency stay effort failed. Afari and Jabari Mack have now PLAYED. • Louisiana. Preliminary injunction entered. NCAA/SEC restrictions enjoined for covered plaintiffs. SEC says it will appeal, but I have not seen an appellate stay. • Texas. Hudson group remains protected. Major hearing Sept. 11. • Texas. Traevon Mitchell remains protected. • Oklahoma. Tockey/Saili group protected. Danny Saili has now played. • Oklahoma. Braxton Fely protected, including portal/Rule of Restitution relief. • Arkansas. Wooden/Williams protected by agreed TRO extension. • New Mexico. Brett Karhu protected and has now played. • Oregon. Van Wells/Jaheim Patterson protected. Both played Sept. 5. • Indiana. 8-athlete TRO remains active. Stephen Daley played Sept. 5. • Missouri. Sterling Webb protected against NCAA + Missouri itself. He has played. • New York. Monroe, Gayle and Pearce currently have TRO protection. • Georgia. Godfrey group protected. NCAA appeal pending, but no stay located. • New Jersey. Kromah protected. NCAA has ASKED for a stay, but I have not seen one granted. • Southern Miss. Nunnery/Lewis/Maui protected through Sept. 14. STAYED • Tennessee. Trial-court injunction stayed on appeal. • Ohio/Borovicanin. 24-player injunction stayed pending appeal. • Wisne nationwide injunction. Still stayed by the Tenth Circuit. DENIED • Nevada/Cruz • Nevada/Fuller emergency relief • South Carolina/Dalley • Federal Trotter group RELIEF REQUESTED / WATCH • Arizona. Max Harris/Ismail Mahdi • Kentucky. Kalib Perry trying to join Edwards group • Mississippi State. Manning/Sylla • Florida. Steen • Ole Miss/Micah Handlogten. Eligibility remains unresolved. IMPORTANT NEW PRACTICAL EXAMPLE. Texas OL Cole Hutson previously won court relief on the Class-of-2022 issue, but Texas now says he is STILL INELIGIBLE because of a separate NCAA issue. That may be the best illustration yet that winning the “2022 fifth-year” issue does not automatically clear every other NCAA or conference eligibility hurdle. SEPT. 22 is BOROVICANIN oral argument in Ohio. There is still NO confirmed Wisne oral-argument date. The bottom line. The nationwide Wisne injunction remains stayed, but the state-court strategy is very much alive. We now have multiple athletes who have gone. Wisne stay → individual state TRO → survive NCAA challenge → actually play. The next major inflection point looks like Sept. 10-11, when Arkansas, Oregon, Indiana and the large Texas Hudson group all return to court.
