Hello all. I wanted to introduce you to my son, Andy. Unfortunately, he’s sick, and my family are trying to fundraise to assist with the rising medical costs. If you could watch this video, and donate using the link in the bio, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
@SeanFennessey@ThatKevinSmith@TheBigPic The Kevin Smith interview was incredible. I started getting annoyed when he seemingly wasn’t answering your question, and by the end I was raptured. Tangentially, it made me want to watch his films. I’ve seen most, but not Chasing Amy, so I immediately went to rent it. It’s great
“Thunderbolts* has amassed $76 million in its domestic debut. It's a great result for a mundane MCU picture, yet the Marvel/Disney release has a 200 million price tag before global marketing expenses, so profitability remains a ways away.”
I was mainly on, and paying for, Twitter as part of my fundraising attempts for Andy. Now that those efforts are over, there’s no reason to be on this Hellsite anymore. If you care, you can follow me on BlueSky. Peace out Twitter! #FuckElon
In anticipation of Giving Tuesday, I wanted to share my story of the difficulties of getting my sick and dying son Andy a wheelchair, which should be covered by insurance, and why your donation will be extremely helpful to Andy and our family.
Andy has two rare, neurodegenerative genetic diseases- Batten’s Disease and Sanfillipo Syndrome. His doctors tell us he’s the only documented case of having both. It’s super fun in so many ways, and one of them is anticipating when his body will break down to even need a wheelchair.
At this time last year, it was inconceivable he’d need a wheelchair. He’s taken stark turns since then, and luckily my wife and I got the process started earlier this summer, before he really took a downturn, because right now, he needed his wheelchair yesterday.
Wheelchairs right now are super customizable. My wife did a great job picking out a chair that looks like a stroller, and should be perfect for Andy. We worked with a specialized doctor and a wheelchair vendor to get everything we needed. The vendor then submitted every individual part to insurance for approval.
The vast majority of the individual parts submitted were approved, but 7 were not. Insurance sent us a denial letter, but the way the Vendor submitted the parts, it was unclear about what specific 7 parts were not approved.
When I asked insurance about the denial, they told me all 7 parts were superfluous but the wheelchair itself was approved. So then I called the Vendor. The Cust Service Rep at the Vendor didn’t know specifics, so I was sent to a lady in Payroll. I left messages every other day with this lady for 3 weeks, who never bothered to ever call me back.
I specifically asked this Lady to call me back, even if she wasn’t the correct person to talk to, even though all Cust Service Reps kept sending me to her. Finally, I was able to get a hold of someone else at the Vendor, and he got back to me within 24 hours.
SURPRISE, SURPRISE! 6 of the 7 parts were not only not superfluous, but extremely necessary, inducing the seat and the back of the wheelchair. The total out of pocket for these 7 parts is almost $8,000.00.
At this point, this Dude at the Vendor said I had 3 options:
1. Pay out of pocket rn for the uncovered parts,
2. Ask Andy’s doctor for a Peer Review with Insurance, or
3. File an appeal
Keep in mind, my son fucking needs a wheelchair right now to live in the world!
I called Andy’s doctor, technically not associated with the Vendor, and asked her to call Insurance for a Peer Review. She obliged, but because the Vendor took so fucking long to get back to me, the 30 day window to ask for a Peer Review had lapsed, and was now not a viable solution. Fucking hell.
We then filed an official appeal, but because that could take months, and again, Andy needs a wheelchair now, we decided to pay for the additional uncovered parts out of pocket.
Because of my family’s previous fundraising efforts, we luckily have the funds to pay for Andy’s wheelchair out-of-pocket. I also feel confident the appeal for 6 of the 7 essential parts will eventually be approved. But every donation to our G*F*ndMe is helpful to give Andy the best care he needs now. Anything you can spare will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading my story.
I couldn’t agree more @Lane_Kiffin here is a thought for the @CFBPlayoff
Ole miss #31 strength of schedule and has 3 losses to unranked Kentucky, Florida and 8-4 LSU team 🤷♂️
#Illinois HAS #30 strength of schedule and has 3 losses to #1 Oregon and #4 Penn State and a one possession game to Minnesota
How about we just take the best 12 teams and see where it goes….

I’m not going to dignify this fucking chud with a QT, but if you’re a White Sox fan and cannot recall a single time where Jim Thome hit a home run in a big game, then you’re either a moron or an amnesiac
